    Gunsmithing Barrel Tenon Question

    If someone recut the threads, for truing sake, material was removed. Yes, it's quite common to see a major diameter end up around that. The pitch diameter is much more important, although the major has to be small enough to fit whatever you are fitting the barrel to.

    This hobby can at least make you a little money on the side. If you have anyone that races cars/trucks/motercycles, etc.... then you will have a gold mine sitting in your shop/garage.

    Don't open it up. Order the correct bolt or upgrade your bolt to a PTG.

    Pick something heavy, smooth, has a thru hole of at least 1 5/8 inside diameter and has 30" in between centers. I use a Monarch EE.
