Anyone have a Century C39 AK?? American made

Anomalies do not set precedence, patterns do. Stay clear of any firearms from Century. I am more familiar with Kalashnikovs than any other firearm type and I do not make my previous statements lightly nor uninformed or without experience.

    Gunsmithing Lets Talk Lights

With LEDs be sure to consult a knowledgeable sales person/ product rep and select the appropriate color temp for your needs. While I have limited experience lighting small areas, I have spent several hundred thousands of dollars on fluorescent fixtures and half as much on LEDs fixtures. The T5...

Gunsmithing Bedding Compounds? Devcon still the standard?

I have used several hundred pounds of Belzona and Devcon in heavy industry for many years, Devcon is what I use for rifle bedding. Belzona has some truly excellent products, a bit of topic but their rubber epoxy uses mercury, always a good time wearing a full face breather while working in a...

Help me build a 300 Blackout on a Savage 10 action

I have 2 bolt action in 300 AACs, one has a McGowen barrel that is surprisingly accurate. I personally would not SBR one, instead would consider a 14.5" barrel with a pinned muzzle device of appropriate length.

Gunsmithing Which Product Works Best to Remove Copper Fouling?

I have been extremely pleased with Wipeout for the past several years, earlier this year I switched over to KG12 and will continue using it. A lot has changed in the past 10 years, Sweets doesn't hold a candle to many of the newer products on the market.

Rifle Scopes WTH is up with Leupold's QC? Finish on my new VX-R

That scope was not packed correctly in the factory box, the abrasion you see was caused by movement during shipment/transportation, cardboard will abrade most things that are aloud to continuously rub against it.

Rifle Scopes Bushnell XRS and ERS, differences on paper

Makes sense now, was comparing the wrong optics due to the confusion on the naming methods. The actual internal elevation adjustment range on the XRS is right around 28 mil, the 50" at 100 yd published data is an odd way of saying that you have 50" of up travel. Not to carry on with comparing...

Rifle Scopes Bushnell XRS and ERS, differences on paper

There are 2 versions of the ERS, the 30mm main tube version and the 34mm main tube version. The 34mm version is virtually the exact same optic as the XRS just reduced magnification and such. Another way to state it is that the 34mm version of the ERS is a much upgraded DMR/HDMR.

    Gunsmithing A Real Gunsmith Question

I spun up a 6.5x47 last weekend with Akercocke, Samael and Disavowed on rotation. Indicating was different, a bit too much on the aggressive atmosphere. Think I'll try some Patsy Cline next time.

Rifle Scopes Scope Recommendations for 300 WM Rifle

While not a direct apples to apples comparison, I have had an F1 MLR2.0 on my 300 RSAUM for some time now. I am now running 178gr Hornady's at 2900fps. That optic fits the role extremely well from 50 yards to well over 1k. Rugged, relatively lightweight, great reticle, fast turrets, nothing I...

Tula 556M have produced excellent consistency for my loads.

Lehigh 245 banded Solid .338 Lapua

I gave up on using brass projectiles in short order at extended ranges. Their ability to produce target movement/impact sound volumes was terrible.

    New Target Stand/Target Brackets

Mud flaps work for suspending as well. Not as stout as a multi ply conveyor belt, but it does work and can be much easier to find.

    New Target Stand/Target Brackets

Looks good. If you place a 1/4" thick rubber washer between the target plate and stand backing plate you will increase the sound of impacts as well as increase the longevity of the target plates.

MWS, it's proven itself to me.
