It depends. Heavier rifles will probably like more pull, lighter rifles will like less. Either way I’d call it “firm”. The absolute key is to have your body positioned so you can truly pull straight away from the target without steering at all.

The reticle twitch is because the poly beads give and the sand does not. So when the firing pin drops, that force is transferred into the scope vs into the bag. Free recoiling will actually make it twitch more. I’ve seen exactly what you’re taking about and I’m 99.9% sure it’s the reticle...
