Re: Where to buy Howa 1500 or Rem 700 Barreled Action? Wal Mart had HOWA rifles on close out for 350.00 in some stores maybe you can check it out to see if there are any in you neck of the woods.

Re: CZ452 Varmint or American? A barrel held in by set screws does not give the same harmonics as a screwed in barrel, also it is more temperature sensitive for accuracy. this is of course my opinion ymmv

Re: Douglas barrels. I have used both blued and stainless Douglas barrels and both were excellent .

Re: Cerakote in the kitchen oven Cerosafe does not require a lot of heat, you can warm the barrel action up in the oven and use a heat gun to finish to job.

Re: Is this 40X what I'm looking for? srv656 you could purchase from the the cmp a short stock 40x for 400.00 and a 40X for 475.00. Richards micro fit at one time made stocks for the .22 for a variety of actions.
