    Here's a couple pics of extractor. I also managed to salvage a SS fluted Rem barrel that had a bad chamber by cutting off chamber and making a barrel nut for it. That was my only choice since the shoulder was no longer large enough. Turned the gun into a .222 for shits and grins. Functioned...

    I had a Rem 788 in 223 do the same exact thing a few years ago. Broke a chunk off the same way. I installed a Tubb/Sako style extractor and it worked great. Straight forward milling job. I don't see why you couldn't do it on your 6mm. They're easier to do on 788s without the lugs in the way...

    Yes the Burris scopes are good. Their SCR retical is great. I think they are the best valve in 34mm tube scopes.

    So true about the barrel. At the time it was a Benchmark, 3groove 1:8twist, 28" and 1" at the muzzle. Action was a PTA Dual Port.

    Gunsmithing Question: Hermes Engraver for barrel markings: which bit

    Mine was originally a "flatbed type". I drilled and tapped the corners for some "legs"(bolts) to raise it up high enough for barrels. Then I just mounted some aluminum angle to the vise plates to hold the barrel in alignment. The legs allow for different material heights. Works really well.
