Re: .223 Suggestions? My rifle is similar to what you're going for (700 SPS varmint in .223), and I ended up with a Vortex Viper scope (6.5-20x44). It's decent quality glass, and the warranty is as good as they get. Definitely worth a look.

Re: Vortex Viper 4-12x40 I can't help you with that exact scope, but I do have two other Vipers (2-7x32 and 6.5-20x44), and they're definitely solid, quality pieces. I wouldn't hesitate to put one on a muzzleloader. The glass is pretty clear, and the construction is heavy duty. Worst case...

Re: Any Minnesota members get tornadoed They came pretty close to us (Mounds View, just south of Blaine), and several neighbors lost some big trees that blocked our road. Fortunately, we had no serious damage (a few tree limbs down) and there was no serious property damage in the neighborhood.

Re: Vibram five finger shoes I've been running in vibrams (KSO's first, and now classics) for a little over a year. I'm a long-time runner, and I had a really hard time backing my mileage down to get used to the new shoes. I did end up straining a muscle in my foot, and had to stop running...

Re: New for the Remington 700 - the Bolt Lift Ordered mine last Wednesday, got it in the mail Saturday. It fits my new 700 SPS varmint perfect, clears my scope just fine, and looks cool as hell. Thanks!

Re: Picked up my first bolt rifle I picked up the same gun at Gander last week for my first long range gun. I shot it the first time two days ago, and it was a blast. The scope isn't as bad as I expected either.
