Gunsmithing Best way to beef up/ add weight to rifle

Powdered tungsten available through Brownells, mix it as densely as you like into epoxy, you'll get plenty of weight.

    Gunsmithing Want trigger recommendation

Shilen for single stage. I do like my T7T but damn you have to open the stock up a lot for them.

Rifle Scopes No love for US Optics?

When I rebuild my 22-250 to a 308 I'll likely look into putting an ST-10 on it, replacing the Leupold VX-III that's on it now.

    Sidearms & Scatterguns 10mm 1911 thoughts & opinions

Keep in mind 10mm has 2 completely different categories of loads produced for it. The most common makes it effectively a 40S&W. The other are the loads that give the performance that was originally intended, and will certainly find any weak point in the build rather quickly. That being said I...

    Movie Theater Longmire

I've enjoyed it. The book series is really good as well. Craig Johnson the author of the book series it's based off of makes a short appearance in the last season as the guy at the Funeral home when Walt is picking up Lucian Connally's ashes.

What's your favorite caliber for hunting?

Well, I'd have to say I've taken more game and a larger variety with the 375 H&H than any other caliber I've owned. If I had to pick 1 caliber from here out It would certainly be on the very short list.

    Twist Rate for 22-250

Mine has a 1:8 twist. When I first built it the 62 grain flat base Bergers that have since been discontinued performed great. The newer Berger 77gr OTM does just as well, and I have gone as low as a 40gr and haven't blown one up yet.

Gunsmithing Maximum barrel profile for a AX Accuracy International stock

Heavier than I would care to haul around for sure. I'm pretty sure it will take a straight 1.350 with room to spare. More or less anything within reason is fair game.

    Gunsmithing PTG reamers

I had Dave regrind a .308 Bisley for me a few years back, had the free bore shortened up to keep VLDs at magazine length and still be able to get into the lands. Turn around was just a couple weeks.

Stiller Tac-30 Is one hell of a Action.

My best shooting rifle is on a Tac 30. I've used several of them and every one of them did exceptionally well. Also have a drop port Viper in 6.5x47L that I can't complain about. Currently sitting in the safe waiting on parts are a Spectre and a Copperhead ..
