    Re: What is a safe target for a .50 cal? Shoot into a big pile of dirt. You have to stop those bad boys. I shoot the API's through 1-1 1/2 inch mild steel. Alot of fun. Big pile of dirt...........At least 8 feet or so will do it. Have fun.

    50 BMG Surplus Bullets

    Re: 50 BMG Surplus Bullets I did the same thing...........Not enough lube. I put a small socket on the but side and hammered it out.I don't believe you could set it off if you tried. Just hammer it enough to move it through the die. Good Luck!
