    Another issue is of transferred at death it can be done at a “stepped up valuation” This will avoid taxes at time of sale. I doubt inheritance taxes are an issue.

    Absentee land ownership will cause issues you cannot imagine. Very little to gain from it. If it were me I would consider doing what it takes to bring it up to sale condition. Clear, doze, remove junk etc. Then sell and do a like kind trade on something nearby you can enjoy that will also go...

    I am not a machinist but I do know that brass has a degree of "pull back" so the number you are seeing is not likely to be accurate. Headspace is not measured by fired rim thickness.     No problem. It’s a very common misconception that Unertl supplies boxes like the Lyman boxes. Most scopes were shipped in cardboard boxes and I’ve seen a few in nailed together plywood boxes but nothing like the hinged wooden boxes Lyman utilized. I do have some Lyman boxes.
