    Rifle Scopes "True" 1x Options

The whole story is that I have so far sent back 3 Vortex Scopes all with this problem. They were all the same model and I really want to use this scope so I am going to stick with it for a while. The way that I see it is that there is no reason why I can't have this scope and have it work fine...

    Rifle Scopes "True" 1x Options

I mean I guess now I am considering returning my Vortex and try for another one. Part of me thinks that it is me who is not mounting it correctly. I am using a torque wrench set to 17 inch pounds. LaRue LT-104 with the bottom screws tightened first, all screws with blue loctite. I just don't see...

    Rifle Scopes "True" 1x Options

So I've been having too much trouble with a Vortex Viper PST 1-4x24 and I am going to get a refund for it. The scope I am looking at now is a Hi-Lux CMR 1-4x24 and I was wondering for anyone who has one is it really 1x like the Vortex? Now the Vortex is basically 1x passed maybe 25 feet and this...

    Need advice on DuraCoat colors

Here in west MI we have very thick and green summers. I want to camouflage my 700 to match this. Though, Duracoat has so many greens that I don't know which one to choose. I obviously can't trust the pictures they have, those never match what you see in reality. Really what I need is a good leaf...

.338 LM recoil... What's it like?

I am a smaller frame guy looking to get a .338 Lapua when I acquire sufficient skills. With a proper brake, shooting position, and lighter rounds. How would recoil be for a smaller guy like me. I really want to get into this cartridge. -Thanks

    Need some Direction.

Re: Need some Direction. Just went out today with a buddy and shot the .17 at 175ish yards with a 10mph crosswind. We put out a half sheet of paper and hit it a lot more times than we thought we would. It was really cool to adjust for wind and actually get it right.

Re: Need some Direction. Wow thanks so much. Would my Ruger .22 Semi-auto be accurate enough for me to practice with? Or do I need a Bolt Action, because money is kinda tight.

    Need some Direction.

Re: Need some Direction. Hey man that was really interesting to read, like I said in my other reply I think I'll start with my father's .17 HMR, if that sounds like a decent cartridge, then move onto .308, and .338. What types of things will I learn about? Or is that something I have to find...

    Need some Direction.

Re: Need some Direction. I really like what you said about getting bad habits from strong recoil, We have a Savage .17 HMR at the house, maybe that would be a good rifle to start with. Then move to .308, and when I know all I can know, and I have the money, go to .338. It's not really about...

    Need some Direction.

Re: Need some Direction. Yeah, I have been told before to get a .308 and put 8-10k rounds through it to see what I want in a rifle. I am for sure going to reload with .338 when I get one. In my mind it just seems like too badass a round for me not to own and shoot. Otherwise for a starting...

    Need some Direction.

I'm an 18 year old really itching to get into long range precision shooting. From what I have seen over the years, the .338 Lapua is my favorite cartridge and I want to base a precision rifle around it. Though I have never fired a rifle chambered in this round, I am fairly certain it's what I...
