Accuracy of a SCAR 16?
With a 1x red dot type optic, I can't do those kinda groups at 100 yards that you guys are getting. However, I [previously had a Steyr AUG A3 before I got my SCAR 16S, and I find that I can shoot tighter groups with more accuracy compared to the AUG. I think some of it was the AUG's trigger. I was kinda/sorta interested in it - with the price point. However, there are SO, SO many threads on all the gun forums... Of all the issues going on. I've read enough to know I want no part of that gun. At least not for a year or so for them to work all this out.- shipwreck

Tavor or, Steyr Aug
I bought a Steyr AUG earlier this year. I had the same choice... I got to try a Tavor first, though.. And, I did not like it as much as the AUG. I didn't care much for they "6points of contact" stance that is popular for the Tavor. Bought the AUG instead. However, I ended up selling the AUG...- shipwreck

Correct, it is just a new charging handle itself. It is not that entire non reciprocating assembly. And, I like the gun the way it is. I wouldn't buy that entire non reciprocating assembly. why can't I find a Tan SCAR 17!!!

Rifle Scopes Mini Review - Mepro 21 Reflex Sight with triangle
Well, we've both made up our minds it seems. I don't care for Aimpoints. Even looking down long distances - the "dot" on an Aimpoint is not clear enough. I can use the 1 MOA center dot on an Eotech and hit 1/2" groups. I can't do that with an Aimpoint with my eyes. You are forgetting 1 key fact...- shipwreck

Honestly - my brain doesn't even see the blue tint if both eyes are open. Close one eye, and THEN I see the blue tint. And even then, its not a big deal. So, most of the time - it doesn't exist. I guess the brain compensates by combining the two images. As for the aimpoint, they don't work for...- shipwreck
