Oh, interesting. I ran into a similar issue with an MPA chassis and AI magazines. I had one Accurate Mag that would latch in and work. I'm afraid you're going to have to get the magazine they recommend or use a 10-rounder.

Well the bottom would indicate they were made by/for Accuracy International. The top looks like an AICS magazine for the 308 family of cartridges. It sounds to me like the magazine catch is too long. If you were to hold a loaded magazine up into the stock will it feed the catridges.

Its curious though that the older ATs don't get surface rust after being exposed to precipitation. The explanation from AI was pretty lame. They're busy filling the pipe with the AT-XC. They don't want be bothered with AT or AT-X issues.

I wonder if AI wasn't as careful manufacturing the latest AT rifles since they knew the AT was going to be discontinued.

I thought the AI would have a better finish than what you're describing. I have an AI-AT rifle with serial number that starts with 15. I live in a semi-arid part of the country . My AT has been rained on a few times and I never did anything special to dry it off or oil it up. No rust anywhere.

You changed a lot of parts. You're going to have to check a number of things. 1. Firing Pin drop distance. You can usually measure this from the back of the shroud. I don't know if you're shroud and cocking piece will allow this. Looking for 0.210" to 0.250" 2. Firing Pin protrusion...

Did you try a little heat on the adjustment screw? It seems Remington would put some goop on the adjustment screws so they wouldn't move.

does that barrel have 5R rifling?
