    Not a huge amount. I probably have a couple hundred rounds in the safe. I only shoot once or twice a month and will shoot the new 6.5 more I expect. BTW, that scope is specifically made for air and rim fire rifles. I had it mounted on my Anschutz for a while until I went back to peep sights.

    What caliber for a new custom bolt gun?

    I just made the switch from .308 to 6.5x47. So far it's been a very good decision. Redding dies, Lapua brass, Berger or Hornady pills. Small primers though and the flash holes are small at 1.5mm, so you might need some new tools. Recoil is significantly less, but you'll see that with any 6.5...

    Need smith recomendations for bolt gun build on tight schedule

    Another Thumbs up for the team at LRI. I supplied all the parts and they built my 6.5x47 Lapua in a week. With shipping turn around it was a little over two weeks from north Texas. Like every rifle I seen from them (4 count so far), it's a tack hammer. Great folks to deal with as well.

    Thanks for the comment. I never thought about flipping the butt extension. I'll have to give that a try. Makes sense though. I'll have to get a pretty tall rear rest though as the bottom won't be very low.
