Rifle Scopes Will A .308 Destroy a Rimfire Scope?

Not a huge amount. I probably have a couple hundred rounds in the safe. I only shoot once or twice a month and will shoot the new 6.5 more I expect. BTW, that scope is specifically made for air and rim fire rifles. I had it mounted on my Anschutz for a while until I went back to peep sights.

Rifle Scopes Will A .308 Destroy a Rimfire Scope?

I've built a new 6.5x47 bolt rifle and transferred my Razor Gen I there, which of course has drained the fun $ fund so I'm wondering if I mount my Nikon 3x9x40 Prostaff EFR on the trusty old .308, will the recoil destroy the poor thing? Eventually I'll upgrade the new rifle to the Gen II Razor...

What caliber for a new custom bolt gun?

I just made the switch from .308 to 6.5x47. So far it's been a very good decision. Redding dies, Lapua brass, Berger or Hornady pills. Small primers though and the flash holes are small at 1.5mm, so you might need some new tools. Recoil is significantly less, but you'll see that with any 6.5...

Remington 700 SS R5 Mil Spec

I have one that has shot very well out to 800 yards. 1/2 to 3/4 MOA consistently with GMM 168 or my handloads with 178gr AMAX. I've done some tweaking along the way including dropping it in a Bell & Carlson Medalist chassis, adding a Timney CE two stage trigger, swapping the stock bolt for PTG...

Need smith recomendations for bolt gun build on tight schedule

Another Thumbs up for the team at LRI. I supplied all the parts and they built my 6.5x47 Lapua in a week. With shipping turn around it was a little over two weeks from north Texas. Like every rifle I seen from them (4 count so far), it's a tack hammer. Great folks to deal with as well.

First Scope Shots - Anschutz 1913 Precise

Thanks for the comment. I never thought about flipping the butt extension. I'll have to give that a try. Makes sense though. I'll have to get a pretty tall rear rest though as the bottom won't be very low.

First Scope Shots - Anschutz 1913 Precise

I went to my club today and sighted in my new Nikon Prostaff Target EFR scope on the Anschutz 1913 Precise. It took less than 10 shots to get on target at 50 yards and I'm very pleased with the outcome. I was using a front rest, but because I still have the original 3 position butt-hook...

    New from North Texas

Thanks for the welcome. My wife is a NT graduate. I'm a California transplant. Actually in Plano and shoot at the new Frisco Gun Club. The indoor 100 yard range is very nice!

    New from North Texas

Getting back into target shooting after a very long layoff (like since high school). Starting back with small bore (22LR) before moving up to larger and longer range. Some really great reading here.

    Rimfire Rifle Photos Thread

I guess I'll try again... Somehow I managed to delete my original post. Here's what I'm starting with; Anschutz 1913 in the 1918 Precise stock. I just can't see as well as I used to, so I'm going to convert this one to prone/benchrest. The peep sights are coming off and I'm adding a Nikon...

    Broken Links in Posts?

I've been searching using the forum tools and unfortunately it appears that many older links to posts within the forum are now broken and only end up pointing back to the main website. Is there an easy way to use the post numbers in the links to find the original content? I'd rather not be...
