In my opinion, the above posts pretty much sum it all up. The WM gets you better performance with heavier bullets, and maybe better feeding. Most of the rest is Ford vs. Chevy stuff.
Yes, I know this is an old thread.
Have you shot that beautiful Cooper in the last six months? If not, you ought to sell it to me, or better yet, just send it to me. I would keep it exercised and not charge you much for that service.
Used contractor boxes are relatively low cost and quite secure. How secure? We keep low level nuclear devices locked in them on job sites. $200-$300 will get you a used 48".
I have a dead stock 10-22 in the wood stock. What do you think is the single best next bolt-on/swap-out step to improved accuracy, beside more trigger time? Thanks
There is a post somewhere about the accuracy of the 82 Governments that talks about a wide variation in accuracy. They either seem to shoot lights out or not very well, regardless of appearance .
Good choice. I was in AZ for a while and Don Williams/the Action Works is "the best". Good guy, practical guy and a real person to boot. And his work is legendary and rightfully so.
If you want a short rang thumper, look at a Guide Gun in 45-70. Mine has a straight stock, XS Sights, and an 18"" barrel. No optic needed out to 100 yards and the 45-70 definitely has some "thump".
I need a longer range 300WM. Have always hunted everything with a 300WM Winchester Model 70 in a McMillan Featherweight stock. Found a Savage BVSS and it looks very workable. I just need to have a couple of Savage folk tell me how good it is in real life. Thanks
