Anyone do OCW test at further than 100 yards?
I had previously done some testing at the next higher node, but they still showed pressure signs (this was done @ 100). I then loaded 3% down to the next node for this trip, fired a few @ 100 to re-zero, and then on to 900. Dan has an extensive mental database of charge weights/calibers, so...- Steve Williams

I recently had to switch to a different load (.308 LC LR 178 A-Max & 4064), my Savage (tight chamber) was over pressure with the 185 Bergers. Not to mention a case head separation. No more .308 Win Mag Loads for me... So I narrowed it down to a charge, then Dan told me to run it out to 900, and...- Steve Williams

Berger 185 VLD help
Sorry, I'm not familiar with the SPS mag, so I do not have any suggestions. If the OTM's are working at MAX mag length, I wouldn't worry about how far from the lands you are. If your rifle/bullet combo didn't like it, they would let you know. Steve- Steve Williams

Berger 185 VLD help
I run both the the Juggernaught Target and Juggernaught OTM @ 2.885 COAL which is .010" off. I also mag feed them both through my Savage. I run XBR in my 24" 1-10 .308 Savage, pushing the 185 Bergers to 2743 avg. I just worked up a load for my AR pushing 55gr Sierra Blitzkings, those haven't been across the chrono yet, only OCW. .308 in LC LR brass .223 in LC Brass Will soon work up a load for the .243 with 95gr VLD's...- Steve Williams

Beginner looking for information and advice
Best thing would be to go to one locally, and get a feel for how it is run. Tough to tell you what to prep for, since many matches do not conform to common shooting stages. This ^^^ All of my materials say 42.3-42.7 max, best thing to do is like Mike says, pull them down and recharge them with below max and work up. No need to take chances with the only body parts you have.- Steve Williams
