    Leica 2400 R

I got the 2700B to range targets (full size IPSC, white) at 1412yds without issue, and ~3/5 times at 1760'sh (can't recall exact yards) on a cloudy windy day in Colorado plains a week and a half ago. (Had exactly the same readings from the same spot this May.) The next day, Sunday, was misty and...

    Range finder beam alignment

Frank Gali suggested to me ranging the top of a telephone pole from about 50 yards away against a clear sky. If you are getting a reading beam is hitting the pole. If you are getting an obviously wrong reading, or an error, its not. I turned my Leica 2700 90 degrees Left then Right. Then...

    Leica Rangemaster CRF 2700-B

Tripod helps tremendously beyond 1000yds. I use a cheap $15 tripod and LRI mount. The tripod is at scope level when prone. Consistent readings on IPSC steel targets at 1600 in full, bright Colorado sun. Haven't used any of the internal ballistic software ---> have a Kestrel 5700 for that. See...

    Leica 2700 beyond 2000 yards - doesn't slice it

I think a tripod is the key. I use a cheap one ($15) without extending the legs, in prone. IPSC targets it (Leica 2700-B) wouldn't range off hand, it hits every time with support from the tripod. Furthest one I had access to was 1600 yrds. A really solid tripod will probably help even more...

LRF for steel at 1 mile

I had the Leica B-2700 ranging IPSC size steel target at 1600 yds (off a small $15 tripod, in full sun) this past Sunday at Frank Galli's Precision rifle course in Colorado. Got a return 4/5 tries with the same yardage. Hope that helps!

Review - Leica 2700b and Kestrel Elite Solution Part I

For Bow hunting I have an older Bushnell that still works well at bow ranges. I like the idea of having a basic ballistic function out to max hunting ranges (in Wisconsin ~400-500 yds.) where usually there is no time to reference a ballistic calculator but the LRF would give accurate holdovers...

Review - Leica 2700b and Kestrel Elite Solution Part I

Besides the Leica 2700 are there any other LRFs I should be considering?? Budget is $1,000 max . (I can use Cabela's points and can get the Leica 2700 for quite a bit less than the $899). Have looked at The Sig 2200 and wasn't impressed and reviews seem very mixed. The 2400 is too pricy and...

Review - Leica 2700b and Kestrel Elite Solution Part I

Catorres, Thanks for the excellent review! This is exactly the combo I'm looking at. Have the Kestrel Elite, still deciding on the LRF. Leica 2700 sounds like it's in a class of it's own. Next step up is 2x, or more, the cost. P.S. I'm new to the long range game, newbie here. Awsome info on...
