    .308 Winchester

I picked up a bunch of the 180 Gamechangers (IE TGK) as well. I haven't shot any yet. I am planning to start with Varget and RL15. Will report back when I have data.

Sig Sauer Elite Hunter - 6.5 Creedmoor, 130gr

It will probably shoot like most decent factory ammo. IE OK but not particularly good, and not the most temp stable powder. If I am thinking of the correct load, the bullet for this load should be a 130 Sierra Tipped Gameking, and most guns shoot Sierra's at least OK. I have experience with...

Why do people load so hot?

This is exactly what the "need for speed" crew is missing. Constantly pushing the bleeding edge and subsequently giving up consistency and staying in tune. But who care about modest, consistent loads and longer barrel life LOL? Plus how can you have an exciting day at the range unless there is...

Why do people load so hot?

People load hot for multiple reasons. Mainly I think now it is the equivalent of cartridge "drag racing." Kind of like "I ran 9's with a stock LS long block and a big turbo," never mind it only lasted 4 passes before popping a ring land, and you blew up 2 long blocks tuning it prior to any...

    22 creedmoor

I tried H1000 and N565 with the 80 ELDX. Both were a touch on the slow side. The case got full and loads were compressed before I could get much over 3200 fps. In terms of powders that generate better velocities at lower pressures - N560 and Superformance were the ticket. If you had any RL23...

    Herters white/red box 243 brass?

While I don't think I have used that vintage of Herter's brass, I did shoot a bunch of their older 308 brass several years ago for plinking loads in an AR-10. None of these loads were very hot, or intended for exceptional accuracy, but they survived at least 8 firings before they were too beat...

    A peculiar problem

If you got these from Raven Rocks, the Sierra part number is listed, and you could easily look up the specific bullet based on this.

    A peculiar problem

That specific bullet has a weird ogive. It has to be seated deeper to chamber. There are two different part numbers and potentially ogive shapes to the 180 TGK, these being the 4680 and 4861. You will have to adjust seating depth accordingly.

    Any Remington 750 gurus?

I would absolutely not consider rebarreling one, although in theory this may be possible. I had a 7400 and it was the worst rifle I ever owned. Unreliable, hard-kicking, and inaccurate. Also suffered from a wandering POI. The trigger sucks, and the receiver is a pot metal piece of garbage. I...

    223 Powder Issues

H335 should get you there. A few caveats for good accuracy with a ball powder like this: 1) it tends to perform best near max charges. 2) because of its temp sensitive nature, it won't necessarily stay in tune over different conditions, so adjustments will be necessary over the season. 3) you...

CMMG Radial Delayed 9 mm - First trips

To be honest I don't know what kind of ejector it is. The ejection pattern is 4 o'clock and very brisk, and there did not appear to be any issues with weak or inconsistent ejection between different ammo either. I am not bothering to do anything with the buffer, spring, or buffer tube. This...

CMMG Radial Delayed 9 mm - First trips

I have always wanted a 9 mm upper or 9 mm subgun for range plinking. I was never the biggest fan of straight blowback uppers for multiple reasons, most namely they are loud, and they tend to have a higher recoil impulse than locked breech systems. I also didn't want to deal with a mag well...

    6.5 PRC Pressure signs

I am going to have to agree with you about this. N560 shoots really well in my 22 Creed, but what was a moderate load with zero pressure signs at 60 degrees turned out to be too hot at 90 degrees yesterday. Not primer blowing hot, but some mild ejector marks. The loads still shot extremely well...

    6.5 PRC Pressure signs

Yes too hot, primer is flat and cratered too. Drop it a bit. Also you may get more velocity and less pressure from N565/H1000, they are a bit slower burning than N560. That being said, Norma brass is reputed to be rather soft too.

    Light bullets in 6.5 creedmoor

The 95 Vmax shoots just fine and if you are looking for more velocity it would work fine. There are some other threads about loading the 100 VT with good data. If you aren't after ultimate ballistics, or are shooting a gas gun, 130's will work just fine. While Hornady may not be the ultimate in...
