Get the wife what she wants, at least then with that "ownership" of the weapon she'll be more into shooting it. I went through the same thing with mine and she settled on the Glock 19 over a stack of 9mm's. I ended up picking up 2 19's so we could have similar handguns that share mags...

Glock 19 in a Glock Sport/Combat Holster. Tried many different options that cost several times more, but the Glock holster just offers simplicity. Holds the weapon in tight, retains it better than the flavor of the day Kydex holster, and is light and flexible.

I really liked it, kind of like a scifi groundhog day ;)

I use a Safariland 6285. Good retention and it has enough drop to allow the pack belt to clear it. I'm going to try a leg rig one of these days.

Blade-Tech makes(or at least made) holsters for the Combat. If it's not on their website call them. I had a WRS made for a P220 combat, but that was like 4 or 5 years ago.

Re: Fixed 10x on SPR? Might consider a 6x too. I'm getting the new 6x42 SS with the mil-quad reticle and mil turrets when it comes out, seems like the perfect AR scope.
