A well used working man's Colt. I've had this 1991 for 8 years now. EGW customized it lightly for me(grip safety and bead blast blued finish). This used to be my primary carry until I switched to Glocks, still shoots good after 10k rounds. Only failure I've had is the plunger tube came loose...
The grip is blocky and it's fugly. I carry one because it works. "Grip angle" and "feel" is a training issue. We've got "training" Glock 22's that are pushing 7 years old with tens of thousands of full power .40 ammunition through them. Poorly maintained and run hard and put away wet and they...
Get the wife what she wants, at least then with that "ownership" of the weapon she'll be more into shooting it. I went through the same thing with mine and she settled on the Glock 19 over a stack of 9mm's. I ended up picking up 2 19's so we could have similar handguns that share mags...
Glock 19 in a Glock Sport/Combat Holster. Tried many different options that cost several times more, but the Glock holster just offers simplicity. Holds the weapon in tight, retains it better than the flavor of the day Kydex holster, and is light and flexible.
Blade-Tech makes(or at least made) holsters for the Combat. If it's not on their website call them. I had a WRS made for a P220 combat, but that was like 4 or 5 years ago.
Re: Accuracy International 223 Bolt I would totally buy a 223 bolt for my AE... I'd even go so far as to consider buying a complete rifle. Then the idea of a 10" SBR in 300 black out seems even more entertaining...
Re: Remington 5R AICS vs. AI AE MK III 24" I bought a 24" AE MkII a little over a month ago... got rid of the 700. I love it, can't find any complaints at all. It's in a whole different league from the 700. The action is amazing and super smooth. Way less effort to open and close. Feeds...
Re: Fixed 10x on SPR? Might consider a 6x too. I'm getting the new 6x42 SS with the mil-quad reticle and mil turrets when it comes out, seems like the perfect AR scope.
Re: Looking At A Remington 700 SPS in 300 Blackout I'd get one, it sounds perfect to me. In fact, I intend to buy that very model for the same reasons. Not only that but subs with a suppressor are pretty dang fun to shoot and loading accurate subs for a 308 is kind of a pain.

Re: $400 red dot choice? There was an H1 in the for sale section in a LaRue mount for $450.. can't beat that IMHO. Otherwise, if you have to have new the Pro is an awesome deal.
