Which MPA mount height for TT 525?

In that case, you should be just fine with the 1.125" mount.

Which MPA mount height for TT 525?

I use 1.15" rings for a TT525P with a Proof Competition Contour barrel and a 30 MOA rail on my Mausingfield. There's still about a quarter inch between the scope and barrel. I could be using a straight contour barrel and it would still be easily tall enough.

Cock on Close Vs Cock On Open

Only time the bolt used to come out of my action was when it was being cleaned or when I put it in the hard case, since I made a nice little cutout for the bolt in my old foam. Then I took my rifle hunting. Hiked a mile or so and hauled myself 30 feet up into the deer stand, carrying 25 pounds...

    Popular choices for PRS matches?

Funny enough I actually just ordered a TT earlier this week. I think it's a matter of PRS having existed for long enough that people could try it, get hooked, and then have time to save and progressively upgrade pieces of their gear. I started shooting matches almost 4 years ago now with a...

    Popular choices for PRS matches?

According to the PRS website here all the 10 most popular scopes: Vortex Razor HD Gen II 4.5-27x56 (308 shooters) Nightforce ATACR 7-35x56 F1 (152 shooters) Kahles K525i 5-25x56 (81 shooters) Kahles K624i 6-24x56 (58 shooters) Nightforce ATACR 5-25x56 F1 (56 shooters) Tangent Theta TT525P...

Cock on Close Vs Cock On Open

The firing pin would protrude as you pushed the bolt forwards, and put a round into the chamber. The bolt would stop traveling forwards, and you would start to rotate the bolt to cock it and retract the firing pin. The key is that at this point, the bolt isn't actually all the way forwards. The...

So many 6mm calibers to pick. Which one for PRS and why?

Honestly just pick any of the 6BR variants and call it a day. The difference between 6BR (slowest) and 6Dasher (fastest) is maybe 125fps at most, but honestly less than that most of the time. My 6BR load with 105's was running 2880 fps, and my current Dasher load with 105's is running 2930fps...

    SOLD: S&B PMII 5-25 DT/T3

Looking to sell my PMII or trade with added cash for either a Tangent Theta or a Zero Compromise. I've used the scope for two years now mostly at local matches, in good condition barring a scratch on the windage turret. Comes with the pictured Tenebraex scope caps, but I can also include the...

    Nucleus Build Pictures

I had my Nucleus chambered in 6BR and I used both the MDT 6BR mags and ARC mags with no spacer kit installed. Both magazines worked quite well for me, though I usually preferred the standard ARC mags since they were more compact. I've found that ARC mags work great to feed 6BR without a spacer...

    Weird SD

I used to use a propane torch and a pan with water about half a case deep. De-prime the brass and stand it up in the water, letting the inside fill up. Torch it at night, or in a dark room, and tip it over into the water once you've got a dim and even color to the neck. I made a ring-shaped tip...

    Weird SD

I do, but only once every 3 firings. If brass is fireformed or hydroformed (Lapua Dasher brass) then I try to do it after the initial forming is done as well. You can do it every time, but that hasn't been too necessary from what I've seen. It's only really after 5 firings that I start to see...

    115 Dtacs with nose ring

I used the old DTACs while hunting whitetail and they worked just fine for me at 600 yards out of a 6BR. A double-lung shot with good expansion, followed by a second shot that passed through the rear femur and still made it into the lungs. Just turned away after the first hit but I got antsy...

    Weird SD

The best brass I've measured and used has been from Lapua and Alpha. Admittedly they aren't cheap, but they are consistent and high quality. Using unmodified brass from those two brands, only chamfering the necks inside and out with a hand tool, I can nearly always tune my loads to a...

    Weird SD

To get the most out of Hornady brass you'll almost definitely want to sort it by weight. The thickness of their cases varies enough to change the weight by multiple grains (I found an ES of about 3.5 grains in several hundred pieces of 6.5 Creed brass), which affects case capacity. If you want...

New action: Terminus Zeus or Lone Peak Fuzion?

I've had nitrided actions (Impact Precision and Nucleus) and my current action is a DLC Mausingfield. If I'm being entirely honest the only perceivable difference between the three actions could be easily attributed to round count/dryfire cycles. When I sold the Nucleus, it was smoother than...
