sir, nightforce scopes are made both in Japan and the USA, not the Philippines. I do not support products that are manufactured in communist or banana-republic type shit holes. In my experience and most others, who are probably to chicken-shit to comment, scopes manufactured in the Philippines...

The HDMR is a proven optic and is built in Japan by LOW. This thing is built next to a coconut plantation. If you don't like the HDMR, Bushnell will give you 100% of your money back. I know which way I'd be leaning.

Phone up bc and tell them to mail you some new caps. I've gotten 6 replacements already. Eventually this practice will become cost prohibitive and the company will make the necessary changes.

Excellent write-up and review! A little off topic, but butler creek does offer warranty on their caps. Phone them up and demand that they mail you out replacements. This doesn't discount the fact that the caps are now fragile, but if the company starts replacing the product things may change.
