Doubtful, the muzzle would have to be cut and re-threaded. I would think you would have an overall length issue if its only 16" now, but maybe not. Worst case would be a permanently attached brake to bring the barrel length to 16" again.
Almost looks like it has a set screw on the flash hider?? if it is a set screw, was it tight on the threads when you removed the flash hider?? if it was, thats probably where the damage came from and why it was so difficult to remove.
I cut about 200pcs of 556 with a drill and a small Ridgid pipe cutter, did it suck? Yes. But I sure didn't have much luck finding any 300 brass on the shelves. As far as the cut goes, I really don't think it's going to reduce brass life much. I FL size everything for my Ar so I really don't...
Re: Bittersweet, but more money. Left EMS for the ER I'm suprised it took you that long.. Even some of the suburban Philadelphia medics around my way are doing 5000+ runs a yr. With the exception of a few 3 yrs is about the life expectancy of an Emt/Medic on a busy truck around these parts...
