Also I realize the 1:12 thing is limiting but when I bought the gun I had no intentions of a can and being able to spin heavy bullets isn't worth a barrel change right now.
I am going to look for some of the round nose Hornady 180s to try. I was just wishing that I could bulk buy 175 SMK and use the super/subsonic on the .308 and also use in my 300BLK.
I was not worried about grouping at this point. The low shot was that way on purpose, I wanted to see what it was doing at 20 yards. All I am worried about at this point in the load development is stability. If it won't stabilize then I wont proceed with this bullet. I will worry about the...
Ok since it has been bugging me, I loaded up 3 of each charge and headed back out back to shoot. Also this time I placed my target on a plywood back. Here is what I learned. 11.0 grn: I have no crono but to me 11.0 grns sounds supersonic. Great grouping and no key hole at either range...
Gun: Remington SPS Tactical .308 1:12 twist Load: Case: FGMM 1x Sized and trimmed Primer: CCI Benchrest Bullet: 175 SMK Powder: Trailboss COAL: 2.790 I started with 11.0 grn and worked down to 9.5. I loaded 3 of each charge in .5 grn increments. I...
BLACKHAWK! Stalker Drag Mat - BLACKHAWK! I have this one and I am very happy with it. I wish it was a little longer but that is the trade off with a mat/case combo.
It is an optical illusion. The scope sits level (it is resting on the bipod). I am 100% certain the base is on correct and is a 20 MOA base. I did measure the elevation and got 20 total Mils I then set the scope at the half way point and went and shot. From there I had to come up another 2.7...
Well I got my head out of my rear and fixed the rings. This helped me pick up an additional 1.3 mil for a total of 7.3 vertical elevation over zero. Other than what I have done I think the only other way to help is to add a higher MOA base.
What would be the best way to measure the rings to see if they are in spec? Also I checked and I am sitting at 14mil of elevation for my 100 yard zero.
Up close of base Scope overview Height over bore Elevation turret at 100 yard zero. Would it help to put my rear ring more over the elevated section at the rear of the base?
Weapon System Specs: Remington SPS Tac .308 B&C A5 Viper PST 6-24x50 Mil/Mil Warne Tactical 20 MOA base (Installed Correctly) Warne Tactical Med Rings Today I finally got a change to stretch out my PST and shoot to 1000. So far I have been shooting lights out at 100 with this scope...
I am trying to match a rifle I have seen off the internet but the colors they used were Duracoat. I plan on using Cerakote but the colors on-line make it hard to figure out a match. Does anyone know what Cerakote colors would match Desert Warrior Brown and Woodland Brown. Also is Duracoat...
