Finally got out to the range to test my Summit. Looks like I was able to resolve the issue of light strikes by removing two barrel shims.

I used adhesive vinyl stickers from Tangodown which I picked up off eBay. They worked great and really made it easy. Well worth the $13 in my opinion considering tape cost around $6-8 and you still have to factor in your time.
