Boyd's most certainly does have them- including doing the Timney inlet. I honestly never cared much for the aesthetics of the ProMag stock, but if you want a DBM it's the only way to get one. Usually the fitment is suitable, but sometimes there needs to be some dremel work on the polymer to get...
^^ This. Never heard of POF ammunition- what are you using for MV and bullet BC? Hornady's match ammo with a 155 EDM is WELL subsonic at 1300 yards at 970 FPS and 17.63 mils. You're likely subsonic somewhere around 1000 yards and it's dropping like a rock for the last 200-300. If you've got...
Have one in .338 LM. Extraction sucks, sometimes needing some "help" from a cleaning rod down the bore despite the load not being overly hot. That said, it does what it's supposed to do downrange. The Lapua is definitely pushing the limits of the rifle- I suspect the smaller boltface/reduced...
Well said, with one caveat... At 64, I've never been an alarmist- but I've also never seen the state of our constitutional republic like this, with at least some of our institutions within the federal government seeming to want to test the limits to which they can erode our constitutional rights...
I didn't have the patience to read through 3 pages of replies, but here goes... First thing I noticed is 400M "+". How much "+" ?? Range is the primary consideration IMO when it comes to matching the stick to the task at hand. Sure, the 6.5 Creed/.260 Rem are capable- but they lack energy at...
Two birds of the same feather. Creed has nothing on the Swede- esp if you handload. Love these old cartridges that are still relevant- my 54R's loaded with .30 cal boolits give me velocities between the .308 and the Springfield...
Don't let self-timing limit you if you can't find one large enough. Assuming a cylindrical brake, easy enough for any smith (or any machinist for that matter) to simply face brake as needed to get it to clock correctly- it's quick and easy.
I like Holland's QD... https://www.hollandguns.com/m7/SS--quick-discharge-muzzle-brake-s-s-straight.html?qty=1 EDIT: Never mind- missed the self-timing requirement. You can always use washers like those from PA
Every rifle I own for LR shooting has a brake- impossible to spot my impacts without one. Any pussy next to me has a problem with it, they can fuck off. That said, doesn't mean I don't extend common courtesy to minimize the impact on the shooters next to me when possible.
This. I suspect most of us would assume the failure was lack of contact of at least several of the lugs against their abutments. Thing is, you don't know whether the problem was with the bolt itself or the receiver. I suspect it's possible as well that there could be a defect in the machining of...
