I have an old 8 mil/rev 3-15 xtr2 g2b, and newer 3-15 g2b, 4-20 SCR and a 5-25 g2b and used to have a different 5-25 scr. I also have a 3.3-18 scr non illuminated and a 5.5-30 scr nonilluminated. The 4-20 XTR2 is just super clear and far and away my BEST XTR2. The 3.3-18 XTR3 nonilluminated is...
I received two of the Veracity PH's and they are both perfect. Super easy to use. Burris hit a home run with them. Very soon i think scopes like this are going to be everywhere. The veracity PH is about as good as the glass in other scopes about the same price, but great reticle and the built in...
I have only dealt with Burris C/S twice. once was when i had a scope cap break (pre COVID) and they sent out new ones quickly. The next time was when i tried to order something from Burris (I believe it was an XTR3 race dial) that they used to sell from there website, and that C/S person was...
Of those two, the Burris XTR2, but for a hunting scope for a guy around 70, get the Veracity. It has a much better reticle for hunting, and still dials wonderfully if you want to use that.
I have 2 of the 5-25, a 4-20, two 3-15 (one is an old 8 mil/rev), and the 4-20 is better than any of the others. The 4-20 is even a little better than my Bushnell DMR2.
My favorite hunting scope is the 3-15x50 Burris Veracity with the E1 FFP reticle. it is easily seen at low power at the limits of legal shooting with a wooded background. It has no battery and is the only FFP hunting scope that i would recommend at low power without illumination (it doesn't...
All of my long actions feed beautiful, my three 300 wsm's and one 6.5 creedmoor feed beautiful, but my 22-250 and two 6.5 Creedmoor Savages just have a little hitch that make for clunky feeding. I am not sure why the short actions are more likely to have just a bit more clunky feeling, but not all.
I understand that as my brother uses target scopes for hunting... but to me it just feels like the wrong tool for the job. I can't imagine using a Mil C or Mil XT for hunting. Good luck in your search.
A little constructive criticism. It looks like there are dark spots on some of the images from having an obstruction in the extreme foreground. You could fix this by moving slightly to the left when taking the images, Otherwise, it looks like a good project. Thanks.
For hunting, it is really hard to beat a Burris Veracity with the E1 FFP reticle. It is a FFP BDC reticle with 5 and 10 MPH wind holds, that is thin in the middle and gets progressively wider the further you go to the edge. so when you zoom way in, it is still thin in the middle and still wide...
