It would probably be a good idea to try a different brand of ammo, I have a Remington 700 target tactical that won't shoot the 168 smk factory ammunition in less than 1" at 100 yds, it shoots better than 1/2" with 168 gr amax factory and handloads. If you can find some 168 amax ammo give it a try

Vio515, yes I meant inch/lbs torque, I am going to try using a marker around the recoil lugs and the front of the bolt to see if something is rubbing or maybe only one of the lugs making contact with the barrel, and then polish the recoil lug where the ring indentation was left by the screw...

I always level it to the base and have never had a problem

Pay attention to the action screws, the DBM may be thinner and allow the front screw to get on the way of the bolt lug, or even worse do what I did, torque the DBM with the bolt installed on the rifle and damage the recoil lug or miss align the bolt/barrel relation. I just did this on a custom...

Hornady 168 amax shoots great in my .308 26" 1/12 usually .3-.4" at 100 yds
