Resurrecting this thread on the new site. 175 eld-x out of a 7mm saum. Two cow elk taken this past season. The recovered bullet was from a quartering away shot at 200 yards and found just under the skin in the off side shoulder about 1 inch from exiting. The exit wound is from a clean pass...

I used non magnum primers so be sure to start low and work up.

Finalized load development with Reloader 26 175 eld-x Norma brass 61.2g RL 26 Federal 210 primer seated .015" off the lands (2.247" b-o) using new Norma brass they are going about 2990 fps out of my 24" barrel. Bolt lift is normal and primer edges are still rounded.

Well you can add my LRHSI to the list of backwards parallax knob. Weird thing is that the 100 yard marker is actually pretty spot on but I found out shooting out further that it's backwards like the other illuminated reticle scopes.

It was stiff prior to installation. I'll probably shoot it for a while and see if it loosens up. If it continues to bother me I'll see about getting it fixed.

I just picked up the LRHSi 4.5-18. Focus was pretty close to the 100 yd marker. Haven't had a chance to go further yet. One negative is that the parallax knob is extremely stiff. I'm talking nearly hurts your hand stiff. Hopefully it will loosen up with use. Any others experiencing this...

I just settled on 61g 4831sc Norma cases with Federal 210 primer 2.93" coal. 2910fps in a 24" Bartlein.

Since there is little info on Reloader 26 in the 7 saum I thought I would post my recent pressure test with the 175 Hornady Eld-x. 24" barrel on a model 70 wsm action. Throated close to saami spec. My hunting load for this past season was 58.5g of H4831sc in Norma cases with a 210 primer...

For the chargemaster users, pick up a scale pan that has a filler mouth on it and you can pour directly from the pan to your case then seat the bullet as the dispenser fills the pan again. No need for a block, at least for case filling. I do use a cheap plastic one for lubing cases though.

While a big magnum would be great for launching the heavies you don't necessarily have to go that route just because it's a 1:8" twist. You can still make use of it in a .280ai, 284, or a smaller magnum like the 7 wsm or saum. I doubt you'd be in any risk of over stabilizing the 162 / 175 /...

My 22" barrel averaged 2650 fps with a 2013 lot of factory Hornady 140 Amax. Add maybe 25 fps for your 23". 2014 lots may yield different results as their were some changes from 2013 to 2014 lots.

Ok I just found on both iPad and iphone5 that location services is not staying in "Allow" when going into shooter. On both units once opening shooter and going back to location services it is defaulting back to blank.

Ipad let me fully edit the bullet profile and choose g7. iPad won't pull atmospherics still. Just updated iphone5 to 8.0.2. Before running the latest shooter update but after 8.0.2 it would let me pull atmospherics but not edit bullet profiles. Ran the shooter update and now it will allow...

Ipad is working for bullet editing and syncing both ways. Won't pull atmospherics though(not sure if it ever did). Iphone5 with latest IOS7 is pulling atmospherics. Installing 8.0.2 on the iPhone now and will see if it still pulls atmospherics.
