My buddy said he couldn't remember the manufacture, but said that he built a 6.5 saum specifically for those bullets. He said they were around 155grns and required a 7 twist. He said they didn't perform very well and tough to keep stable. He also said that the company was out of Canada. Anyone...
Makesawdust, I like the idea of the 25sst. Ive chambered up a couple of barrels in 25PRC, 25Saum. The guys are shooting 131 and 133s. But theyre after deer, the 25 is hard on deer! When spring come around I switch from a 6mmSLR to a 6.5saum with 135s atips at 3150fps for poking coyotes because...
The problem with the 6creed is that it has to use a faster and hotter powder to achieve its velocity. What kills a barrel faster? Pressure + heat + velocity... If you can run a slower burning, cooler burning powder and much less pressure but still retain the velocity you'll win on barrel life...
Im running 88grn hammer hunters in my sons 6GT at 3340fps. Knocks the socks off white tail deer! I use to run a 22-243 with 80grn bergers at 3500fps. Its a mild load. Xdeano
I couldnt agree with you more! Ive been running the 6SLR for years and its hard to beat without having to fireform. The 6 competition match is another one but you have to fireform. I'm also running a 6GT but it doesnt have the velocity of the 6slr. Xdeano
A 6prc would be a zipper of a round. It would sling a bullet pretty quick, it is also crazy overboard and would torch a barrel in about 6-800 rounds. A barrel is roundly $360 and $500 machine work. So roughly $900/800rds= $1.12 a shot. Ouch. Pick up a 6GT or 6SLR. Xdeano
One of the biggest issues with most of the die companies is the fact that they won't resize far enoughdown the case, you'll end up with clickers and hard feeding. The only die that resizes the PRC line is the micron die from bullet central. It is the only sizing die a guy should look at for the...
Any more updates on EPL4's? I'm a glass snob but I've been looking at these really hard for some rifles that won't be used for the reach. One is my 17 Rem which i don't shoot past 300yds anyhow and my son's 6GT which he doesn't shoot out past about 800yds with, I'll give it a few years for...
