ultimate prairie dog ar-15. buy vs build.

I've built two pdog slayers, their a mixed bag of components. Both are 20" bull barrels 1/8 twist chambered in .223, free floated handguards. Model 1 sales and a DPMS. Neither is a high dollar barrel under $200/ea but they out shoot my abilities all day. Being that you're a reloader you'll be...

    AR Scope mounts.

Well, the "best" measurement I could manage shows a height of 1.53". This is by no means 100% accurate, just the closest I could find without removing the optic. Hope this helps. P.S. 30mm rings

    AR Scope mounts.

I've owed many different mounts over the yrs, extra high rings, low rings with a riser, Larue's. For the $ I'm really liking the PEPR mounts. My scopes never get removed so I'm not worried about rezero. One piece mounts its hard to beat the Burris.

    OK, time to treat myself....

Piston AR's = no buffer tube.

    Quality Hard-sided Gun Cases?

Unless you really want the foam "fitted". Check out SKB cases. I have their double rifle case (42") holds 2 20" barreled/fixed stock AR's w/ scopes perfectly. Holds them bunkbed style. I really like the fact that its not overly long.

    Ar trigger?

Never said they were the "best", hence my swap. But I'll say this, it's worlds above a GI bone stock trigger in my application. Mine never gave me a minutes trouble in 3 years of use, took down a lot p-dogs with its help. Spend what you're able, upgrade when you can. Most of all shoot!

    Ar trigger?

Lifetime warranty, whats not to like there. That being said I swapped my RRA NM with an SSA-E. SSA-E is a fantastic trigger, put the NM in my back-up AR.

Rifle Scopes About to lose my mind searching for a varmint scope

Scope arrived Fri, I went with the "damaged box" option, saved myself another $50. If that box is damaged it must be a mental thing cause I can't find a single thing wrong. Fabulous company to order from! This is my second optic in so many years from them but it won't be the last!

Rifle Scopes About to lose my mind searching for a varmint scope

I love BDC ret. I think dogs move and hussle too much to try and dial. It works for me. Hope the Vortex is here by the weekend!

My Zeiss is 6.5-20. I find I use 20x very often once I've located a target.

Rifle Scopes About to lose my mind searching for a varmint scope

Looking for a scope to put on my back-up AR when prairie doggin'. Current scope is a Vortex Crossfire and for what it cost its killed a lot of dogs but it seems like a good time for an upgrade. Main Ar, I'm running a Zeiss w/ the varmint reticle. Absolutely love the scope, picked it from...

    Minnesota shooters Gunstop has Varget

I love that place. I was desperate for a .223 case gage. None to be found locally or online. Called them up and they had several. Was really surprised at their selection of dies and misc. supplies.
