I’ve had a PVA Proof Contour barrel on my PRS match rifle for 2800 rounds. I know it’s time to let it go, but it’s been a tack driver that’s treated me really well. Still shooting just about 1 moa. Do I just let it go?

New PVA barrel arrived a couple days ago. Not the same reamer, so load dev required.

6.5 Creedmoor. Been working with a conservative load that has performed well.

It's a barrel, not a person. It has served its purpose and has no emotions and will be just as happy recycled into Chinese car parts. If you have a emotional attachment A) call a therapist and 2- just put it up as your magic stick in the pocolyps.

Well, IMHO it`s not necessarily an indication that one should be committed to a mental hospital if one develops a sentimental attachment to an inanimate object. I have an Ithaca SKB O/U shotgun that I`ll never part with, partly because it`s a great shooting field gun but just as importantly for the great memories I made with it.

I didn't say check I to the nut hut. And I have guns ill never get read of. But a shot out barrel is like brake pads. When they are done, trash.
If you want to save it, put it on the wall in a frame that says in case of zombies.

Figured it was probably 6.5. Don't see it lasting another year, may as well get the load workup done before next season.

You can break in the new 6.5CM barrel and possibly use your "old" 6.5CM barrel for practice only until 100% consumed.
