PISTOL BRACE

And not one state governor, county sheriff, city mayor, or city police chief has done a damn thing to stop the 6:00am raids on innocent people. I would bet everything I have that everyone I mentioned knew beforehand and didn’t give a fuck. One day you guys will understand why I am so critical of the men and women who serve this corrupt and murderous gov’t in any capacity, to the detriment of those of us who are abused by it.

Here is an example near me of federal terrorists allowed to attack innocent people. If men were to fight back against these criminal agencies, do not think for a second that the local badged men would come to aide the righteous but instead would fight for the criminal state. We all know it. Read this shit below from a local paper and tell me that the local, county, and state governments weren’t in on it as well as the tyrant Greg Abbott.

Thats way too close to home. But they're all too close to home when it's on American soil.

When the gov. becomes corrupt and sees We, the People as the enemy they need to be viewed and treated like the enemy.

Isn’t it like 70% the way there now?
More like 95-97%. When a pocket of cops makes the news when they say they're not going to enforce illegal tyranical laws you're pretty much there.

The fact they call OK. a 2nd Amend. Sanctuary State should put things in percpective.

The fucking tyrants should be the ones seeking sanctuary to keep from being attacked at 5 a.m. and publicly lynched.

Not saying I don’t agree with you....

For any of my fellow 'hiders and other shooting enthusiasts who plan to comply.. I get it. You got your family and your career and all that to worry about. It'd be stupid to try and disobey our government!

“If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. and burn your Gadsden flags and Molon Labe stickers while youre at it...

What happens if they get literally zero people applying to turn their pistol-braced rifles/PCC's into SBR's? Or even like less than 50%?

I dont know what happens... But I can guaran-fckn-tee what happens if they get widespread compliance. This tyranny will be made and considered as ironclad law, and my fellow "3%'ers" will be rounded up, violated, and locked away... or worse.
Hold the goddang line.

This is exactly what needs to happen but clearly we have seen the will of people to do the opposite within our own ranks.

And this is exactly why I was wondering how exactly people supposedly applied for this free stamp biz when it’s not even official yet.

That is exactly what I picture when I think violent terrrorist    I am sure those involved felt very tactical and righteous storming such a hard target.

It’s a shit show. Once it is finally published as an actual rule, I foresee many lawsuits. We all know how long that takes and no one in .gov or any of the courts are to be trusted. I still stand by my original assessment, and that is to wait before making any hasty decisions. Like many others, I already have NFA items on papers. I’m not interested in adding anything at this time. I’ll leave at that.

They were probably getting double overtime hazard pay combined with their usual 160k dollars a year salary that includes vacations, holidays and retirement.

Being a thug pays well if you work for the government.

I also heard the ATF supposedly arrested a bunch of influencers over the braces because they had videos of themselves shoulder firing them on YouTube or some crap. I have not verified this yet but that’s the buzz in the industry at the moment.
I've watched them complaining about how uncomfortable the tailhook was on their 308 pistol. SMH?? I'm glad I didn't buy anything with a brace attached to it!

Just because a handful of cops say they're not going to be bothered by enforcing an illegal gun law, don't expect them to help you when the hut hut squad pays you a visit at 5 a.m.

The only braces they're concerned with are braces for Lisa and their pensions.

I'm calling Bullshit on this. The attached letter is still in effect. The courts would slap their pee pee so fast it would shock them.

as far as the current laws, one of my buddies disagreed with me, so maybe I can get some clarification here. the LOP to be considered a legal pistol has to be under 13.5....but what if the brace is somewhat but not easily adjustable to a longer length, like the kak shockwave?

and as far as OAL, it is measured from the back of the tube, not the back of the stock, and measured to the front of the barrel, excluding any muzzle device unless the device is permanently attached.

correct or no?

I'm calling Bullshit on this. The attached letter is still in effect. The courts would slap their pee pee so fast it would shock them.

I'll start by saying I agree on the calling BS part.

But citing the letter is something I find interesting. There is the law, then there is how the law is applied, or precedence.

In the case of an ATF 'letter', these have no foundation in criminal statute. They would not protect you from prosecution, nor can they be a basis of prosecution. Only the statute can be used to prosecute you.

That's the law. Now, do courts give weight to things they shouldn't... well, that's... complicated. Complicated because there are mixed results there. But, to the letter of the law, those documents have absolutely no weight beyond 'feels good' in regard to any criminal statute. Which the NFA&GCA would fall under.

So, while you are correct in saying XYZ letter is still out there -- that really has no bearing on whether or not they arrest people for an alleged crime because the letter itself has no bearing on the statute. The agency itself is not a lawmaker, is part of the Executive branch not the Judicial, it has no authority to make or apply criminal law (beyond arrest powers).

Anyway, easy to get into the weeds here -- the point I'm trying to get to is that the ATF doesn't have the legal authority to do a LOT of things that they are doing. This new pistol brace 'rule' is... on a whole new level of an FU to the Judicial branch, SCOTUS specifically. This is the ATF whipping their dingy out and slapping it across the face of SCOTUS.

Which begs the question: What is the ATF really up to?

Who knows, maybe they really are suicidal. But, my guess -- and it's a total guess, is they're trying to force SCOTUS to affirm the NFA before Bruen can run it's course.

You see, the way SCOTUS likes to work is they'll dish out a landmark ruling and then give the lower courts 5 or 10 years to weave that into things. So SCOTUS clearly knew this was going to undo the NFA -- but there would be 5-10 years for that to work it's way through and possibly legislation that would deal with that along the way. Allow the country to adjust, basically.

This, in my estimation, is the ATF trying to force SCOTUS to either cut the cord themselves, now, or affirm the NFA and GCA so as to cement the ATF's existence. In other words, they see the writing on the wall and this is a last ditch hail marry to preserve their existence.

So, if you had a 10.5 pistol and you perm. attached a 5".5 fake can or actual suppressor on it that should bring it back to 16 and become a rifle?

Can you permanently weld a suppressor on a barrel? Asking for a friend.

I asked this question over on arfcom but they're fags and nobody responded.

Yes, you can spot weld a suppressore on just like a break and have the same effect to get to 16+ ". I think it's very unwise to do ANYTHING right now, no matter what you think you will do. Let it play out and see what happens. The thing isn't even in the Federal register yet. Let the courts do their thing, then once someone actually knows what the deal is, make decisions.

Thanks.

A friend was going to direct thread a Turbo2 on a pistol anyway before this latest broken treaty by the gov. but I think this is good advise.

No offence but the next time that you ask a question like that on ARFCOM, try not to sound like an ATF troll.

Ok. Not sure how it could be re-worded or would be construed as trolling though. It's a straight forward question and I thought a good idea.

Beside's, if they thought it was Mr. ATF Agent, they'd let you know.

All in all, I'm convinced this is an attempt to bolster their, already illegal, registry.
16“ barrels are cheap enough. Others: Dracos, Chargers, MCX could all have braces replaced with single point sling, I still have the birdshead grip for my shockwave. And then there's the Black Collar Arms APS Adjustable Pistol Support. Too many work arounds.
I have access to a full machine shop, work 12hr nights, & have an unlimited supply of free materials. Positively could spin up my own version of that.

Be careful with a 10.5” barrel and a 5.5” can. You probably have 1/2” of thread. You’ll end up with a 15” SBR requiring 2 stamps… 🤦

YHM makes a Turbo that would be long enough but the whole concept is lame after more research.

Routine barrel / suppressor cleaning would become a PITA not to mention what would happen if you had baffle strikes.
