For any of y’all that shoot long range with 30-06 has anyone loaded with varget and 176 a tip. The Hornady manual doesn’t list varget for that weight bullet as an option. Hodgdon’s site doesn’t have the 176 atip but they have 175smk with varget ranging 45gr min to 48gr max. This should be a safe starting point for the 176 a tip correct?

It will work for the A-Tip, but do you have any H4350 to try?

You would get a more efficient load with better ES/SD stats which makes it worth the value of those A-Tips.

Have used plenty of varget for 3006 when it's what I had... slower powder is your friend as said above!

Varget did fine for me with 178 amax and 175 and 168 smk pulls. Not optimal, but plenty good for steel inside 500, probably more from how mine did.

Main downside was leaving free velocity of slower powders on the table... precision was ok given I was using pulls and mixed brass. If sending the best, definitely go for a 4350 powder.
