Ordered a Wolverine for the AK from Silencershop Nov-29-2023
Certified Dec-20-2023
Hope to have the stamp by Summer 2024.....

(Last suppressor (Ghost M .45ACP) took 7 months)

Dumb question. My first 5 tax stamps were old school Form 4 paper submissions. Just filed my 6th stamp 12.01.2023 but my first Efile. What the heck does "Certified" mean?

That is the modern equivalent of the check being cashed. It is when everyone starts counting from.

Like was said, it’s essentially the ATF saying, “Ok, we have officially received a copy of your eForm (and trust), and we are now “cashing your check” for the $200 stamp. So we’re now going to officially start processing your paperwork.” It is essentially “Day 1” of your wait time.

Ah I c. Gen Z lingo. Here it goes. Bet, certified 12.01.2023. I feel based with my boujee can. Hopefully the fed's don't get sus with my Trust Amendments. Can't wait for next year to yeet some.

So you have had two approved that you submitted on 10/6, while the one I'm waiting on was "submitted/in process" on 10/2... weird
Trust me; I was very surprised they were approved that quick as well and thought it was weird too. But I’ll take it. Had another that took two years from date of purchase to approval due to a bunch of screw ups on dealers’ part

I dunno if trusts are slower nowadays...in the past they have been for me....so called ss and told them to switch that mfker to individual before sending over docs to sign. Last can was 13 months...eff that. I'd be stoked if it was 3 or 4 mo 🤞

37, and have no clue what he said other than the "yeet" thing, only because I hear it used ironically (to mock Gen-Z) in the occasional YouTube video.
Gen xers with a gen z daughter. Somewhat funny. They don't have everything.

I hears from my local dealer that customers that were submit multiple form 4’s at the same time were getting them back much quicker then single item applications.

Is there any truth to this or is it just a luck of the draw thing?

Depends. Some people get lucky and get a “batch approval” of all their cans together (or some of them), and others don’t. I’ve never had more than 2 in at a time, and when I did, they were not batch approved.

I submitted 4 cans at once in June. Got back 3 in November. Waiting on the last one.

Interesting. This is in line with what my local dealer is saying. So maybe there is some truth to it.

June-November is incredible!! I remember one my mine took 12-13 months.

I’ve had a form 4 submitted since Dec of 22. I’m still waiting and I have from day one embraced the whole hurry up and wait concept. But I keep seeing people claiming they got theirs in only 2-6 months during this year, 23. Makes zero sense to me how that’s possible! I’ve got a form 1 submitted Dec 5th of this year and I’m betting it’ll get approved before the form 4…lol

The frustration is real….

Its certainly hit and miss. I submitted on 22 May and got approved on the 6 Dec for a Form 4. But then I see post such as yours and countless others who have been waiting for close to a year or longer. It can be disheartening to say the least.

Anyone have issues with efiling and the county not populating on the form?

I just submitted a form 1 and realized after the fact that my county didn't auto populate on the form, even though it shows my county correctly in my eforms profile. I created a new efile form 1 to see if it would allow me to enter or change my county and it wouldn't. Seems like a problem with the software. I emailed Ask the Experts, but figured I'd ask here.

Don’t know if I’m happy or pissed that the form was approved in less than 30 days while my form form is still pending since Dec-2022. 🙄

I’ve got one sitting (trust) at 172 days, and just submitted another one. I have no earthly idea how long it will take. I was hoping the one submitted in July would have been approved by now.

I’m guessing Spring at the earliest and next fall on the more recently submitted. The entire thing is a head scratcher in this digital age.

I'm waiting on one that I originally certified March 2022, but they kicked back without explanation in February 2023, and it's still not approved. What should I do at this point?

Contact the ATF and the FBI NICS to inquire why it was delayed or kicked back so to speak. I’d recommend contacting your state congressman and or senator to also inquire on your behalf!!!

That sounds like dealer talk for, “buy more shit from me.”

I filed two form 4 s on the same day in July. No word yet.

Send a generic inquiry to the ATF and in return get the same generic response...

Some confuse the few exceptions that get an approval after "contacting their congressman" with that affecting their stamp with the whole system being random.
💯

My rep is Jim Jordan and this is what happened to me. I was kind of hoping for a more aggressive stance from them, but I’m just a constituent…. The wait continues.

Another thing I was told and not too sure how true it is but, was told that your age has a lot to do with it and how much security clearances and or trouble you’ve been in. Determines the depth of background checks applied for an NFA item vs just the standard NICs check for typical firearms purchases. Again, skeptical about this statement but wouldn’t be surprised!

I can promise you that isn't true. I've had as high a dod security clearance as anyone I've ever known, and all of my prior approvals are 11 months or more. Meanwhile some of you shady sumbitches are getting 90 day approvals..

No where near true. I have a TS with and SCI read-on and Polygraph and my first one took 345 days and 198 days. Still waiting on another one.

Honestly I'd bet they make date batches and just go through the alphabet a to z and repeat over and over. The times don't make any sense otherwise. I just got mine back yesterday, and my brother who submitted his 3 weeks before me, but also in June, got his back today. I'd imagine they have to have some kind of system. No one could ever know it for sure unless you knew someone who worked there though. Although, that would not explain batch approvals. 🤷
