So you have had two approved that you submitted on 10/6, while the one I'm waiting on was "submitted/in process" on 10/2... weird2nd can approved today 12/15/2023 with a certification date of 10/6/2023.
I don't understand anything you said, nor am I from Gen-Z...Ah I c. Gen Z lingo. Here it goes. Bet, certified 12.01.2023. I feel based with my boujee can. Hopefully the fed's don't get sus with my Trust Amendments. Can't wait for next year to yeet some.
Trust me; I was very surprised they were approved that quick as well and thought it was weird too. But I’ll take it. Had another that took two years from date of purchase to approval due to a bunch of screw ups on dealers’ partSo you have had two approved that you submitted on 10/6, while the one I'm waiting on was "submitted/in process" on 10/2... weird
How old are you? I'm gonna be 44 and understand almost everything lolI don't understand anything you said, nor am I from Gen-Z...
37, and have no clue what he said other than the "yeet" thing, only because I hear it used ironically (to mock Gen-Z) in the occasional YouTube video. How old are you? I'm gonna be 44 and understand almost everything lol
Gen xers with a gen z daughter. Somewhat funny. They don't have everything.37, and have no clue what he said other than the "yeet" thing, only because I hear it used ironically (to mock Gen-Z) in the occasional YouTube video.
Depends. Some people get lucky and get a “batch approval” of all their cans together (or some of them), and others don’t. I’ve never had more than 2 in at a time, and when I did, they were not batch approved.I hears from my local dealer that customers that were submit multiple form 4’s at the same time were getting them back much quicker then single item applications.
Is there any truth to this or is it just a luck of the draw thing?
I submitted 4 cans at once in June. Got back 3 in November. Waiting on the last one.I hears from my local dealer that customers that were submit multiple form 4’s at the same time were getting them back much quicker then single item applications.

Interesting. This is in line with what my local dealer is saying. So maybe there is some truth to it.I submitted 4 cans at once in June. Got back 3 in November. Waiting on the last one.
Its certainly hit and miss. I submitted on 22 May and got approved on the 6 Dec for a Form 4. But then I see post such as yours and countless others who have been waiting for close to a year or longer. It can be disheartening to say the least.I’ve had a form 4 submitted since Dec of 22. I’m still waiting and I have from day one embraced the whole hurry up and wait concept. But I keep seeing people claiming they got theirs in only 2-6 months during this year, 23. Makes zero sense to me how that’s possible! I’ve got a form 1 submitted Dec 5th of this year and I’m betting it’ll get approved before the form 4…lol
The frustration is real….
Congrats!!!Can’t believe it…. My form 4 was approved few hours after the form 1.
Wow!!!View attachment 8312311
Been a LONG time coming. The stressing and frustration is finally over until the next purchase..hahaCongrats!!!
...and just like that, another can (or three) is about to be purchased!Been a LONG time coming. The stressing and frustration is finally over until the next purchase..haha
With high probability…of waiting and bitching about how long it’s taking....and just like that, another can (or three) is about to be purchased!![]()
Contact the ATF and the FBI NICS to inquire why it was delayed or kicked back so to speak. I’d recommend contacting your state congressman and or senator to also inquire on your behalf!!!I'm waiting on one that I originally certified March 2022, but they kicked back without explanation in February 2023, and it's still not approved. What should I do at this point?
That sounds like dealer talk for, “buy more shit from me.”I hears from my local dealer that customers that were submit multiple form 4’s at the same time were getting them back much quicker then single item applications.
Is there any truth to this or is it just a luck of the draw thing?
Send a generic inquiry to the ATF and in return get the same generic response...
Some confuse the few exceptions that get an approval after "contacting their congressman" with that affecting their stamp with the whole system being random.
Another thing I was told and not too sure how true it is but, was told that your age has a lot to do with it and how much security clearances and or trouble you’ve been in. Determines the depth of background checks applied for an NFA item vs just the standard NICs check for typical firearms purchases. Again, skeptical about this statement but wouldn’t be surprised!
My rep is Jim Jordan and this is what happened to me. I was kind of hoping for a more aggressive stance from them, but I’m just a constituent…. The wait continues.
I can promise you that isn't true. I've had as high a dod security clearance as anyone I've ever known, and all of my prior approvals are 11 months or more. Meanwhile some of you shady sumbitches are getting 90 day approvals..Another thing I was told and not too sure how true it is but, was told that your age has a lot to do with it and how much security clearances and or trouble you’ve been in. Right!!!! I waited 369 days for my form 4I can promise you that isn't true. I've had as high a dod security clearance as anyone I've ever known, and all of my prior approvals are 11 months or more. Meanwhile some of you shady sumbitches are getting 90 day approvals..
No where near true. I have a TS with and SCI read-on and Polygraph and my first one took 345 days and 198 days. Still waiting on another one.Another thing I was told and not too sure how true it is but, was told that your age has a lot to do with it and how much security clearances and or trouble you’ve been in. I could be mistaken but I do not believe you can track progress online through the eforms atf site. I believe the process is simply send it away and wait for the email approval notification from the ATF. That is how the last 3 worked for me over the past 18 months. All I ever received was the initial submission confirmation email and the approval email for each one after approximately 287 days. I logged into the atf eforms site and it did not show anything.Okay, so I don’t pay much attention to tracking these things but am interested now for some reason. I filed 2 Efile forms at my LGS in July-ish. How does one go about checking status online? Or is that even possible?
Thanks, typical gubmint operation then, kinda what I expected. All information flows in only one direction, up.I could be mistaken but I do not believe you can track progress online through the eforms atf site. Correct, there’s no progress you can track online. Back during paper forms, you could call and see what your status was (basically, pending or approved) because the process took longer. A few pages back people were able to find an email to see if your NICS check was done , I think.I could be mistaken but I do not believe you can track progress online through the eforms atf site. Call ATF, @(304)616-4500. Make sure you have your serial number and order# for each item. They will tell you if said items are pending approval or other…Okay, so I don’t pay much attention to tracking these things but am interested now for some reason. only go there to the approval megathread if you want to laugh, cry, or get really pissed off (depending on your mood and temperament)Reddit r/NFA is a good resource to see where you fall timeline wise.
I enjoy seeing the neckbeard criers, personally.only go there to the approval megathread if you want to laugh, cry, or get really pissed off (depending on your mood and temperament)![]()
As mentioned call the ATF and shoot an e-mail to [email protected]. Give them your name, DOB, and state of residence (no need for great detail) and ask if you have any pending or delayed checks for Form 4s. They might be able to enlighten you. I was told all my checks had cleared and to contact the ATF.I'm waiting on one that I originally certified March 2022, but they kicked back without explanation in February 2023, and it's still not approved.
