Hunting & Fishing Let’s start a coyote thread.

Dropped one last night, came busting out of the row of cedars I was sitting against and run up on my call, realizing he made a mistake he took off and I rolled him at about 45-50 yards. Anyone know how to age a yote based off tooth wear?

He was old enough to know better but to young to care.

First time out in a month. I was able to punch the ticket on this gal. I was sitting quietly and glassing for about 10 minutes not calling. I felt a rumble in my stomach and let out a super loud FART, and out pops a coyote at 250 yards out trying to figure out what that noise was. That was her last mistake😂

Just thought of this…you could put together your own collection of choice farts and sell a digital file with them. Then people could load them up on their Foxpro.

I can see it now…included in the $9.95 Tugboater Special:

1. Fart duet
2. Distress (in the john)
3. One too many burritos
4. The Squeal!!!!
5. Not silent, but deadly
6. Little angry brown fart
7. Sharting in the shower
8. Constipated whimper

Trust me, I thought about hitting up fox pro with some of my choice sounds, like the brown mosquito or the Predator😂

Anybody use Nosler 110gr Varmageddon in 308?
I've used 110gr v-max in a .308, and 168gr fgmm on coyotes. The 110gr v-max is just hilarious. It's similar to shooting Prarie dogs, just lots of explosive viscera and whatnot. You never have to question whether you hit them. I have a buddy up in Illinois that uses the 110gr varmegeddon in a 24" .308 at night. He's sent me some of his videos. Literally sends blood and meat 20-30' in the air sometimes, clearly visible in the thermal. Looks like a bomb went off inside of them. I've often thought that it would be a great way to tournament hunt. You won't have any runners.

I had this gal run in and attack my turkey decoy yesterday while turkey hunting. She took a Boss Tom turkey load to the head on a run at 4 yards😂

Do you leave your pants unzipped to allow those choice killer farts to blare out?

Lol ok I’m not sure if your fly is down, but your previous fart jokes still have me chuckling… 😂

My pants are totally unzipped. I took a wiz on the way to get set up and forgot to zip my pants up😂 plus it gives a little extra room for the farts to escape!

I was hoping to punch my second turkey tag. This was the day before.

I knew it lol!

If you squint at your pic, it looks like you shot that thing on the plains of the Serengeti.

I had a raccoon hit my hen decoy yesterday afternoon and my son had a coyote hit his jake decoy before daylight this morning. Neither one of us shot, didn't want to scare the turkeys.

Man, I envy people that live in nice places. Used to live in Colorado, but met my wife in MN and got stuck. IMHO the only cool-ish area in MN is the North Shore, Duluth and up, but I don’t live there.

Ah well.
I’m sorry to hear that. I’m hoping someday I’ll get to retire in north central Wa.

Did you say ratty looking? This was the first one at a new spot and it looks right awful and covered in mange.

I stopped on the way to the new spot and got this one with a quick ambush stand. It was spinning even with a front quarter hit and the second round caught it in the back end.

Both stopped briefly to see who was yelling "Hey!"

I don’t think I could mimic the fart sounds of @Tugboater but have to be satisfied with the FoxPro and a distressed rabbit call.

This is a young male taken with a head shot at 106 yards. 224 Valkyrie 88 grain ELD.

He came in fast and stopped about 50 yards short of the e-caller. That was long enough to shut down his operating system.

You sir are a killer for sure! That’s awesome! I missed two yesterday at close range, well within 100 yards. They came in on a wire, to rabbit distress. They are responding reel well to calling right now.

I freakin suck….!

I’ve sometimes missed close shots like that but the difference for today was an equipment upgrade.

I got the Two Vets No Name Inverted tripod with a 55mm ball head and ARCA clamp. The ball head is light years ahead of what I had before. It tracks smoothly with practically no wiggle. My last ball head and clamp really sucked! Lots of wiggle caused me missed shots.

I have a Vudoo in 22LR like you see in the photo. I got lots of practice in with the rimfire at paper and steel targets at different distances.

That practice and equipment upgrade made all the difference compared to the previous setup.

So when I took the shot today he stopped for a couple seconds before I squeezed the trigger. With all the rimfire practice, it felt like second nature today and broke my dry spell.

This is my view this morning. There is a rise of ground in front of the treeline and the call was placed in the dead space just to the left of the rifle. That forced him to come over the rise to investigate the call. I am going to try more dead spaces to locate the call to force them in closer.

So are you on a special diet to produce coyote attracting farts? Asking for a friend.
