Magpul - 2025 New Maztech X4-FCS & X4-LRF

It would be more interesting to me if the unit was for a 5-25x 56mm objective scope, but it’s a good step in the right direction.

Sometime in my life (knock on wood) I assume regular people will have access to better-than-current (Burris, Steiner, etc) integrated electro-optics, like that fancy Vortex XM-157 unit for the mil crowd.

This will be killer if they make it for a legit optic vs a 1-6 or the rare 1-10 with a 30mm tube.

I’m in for the WMLRF for sure. Checks a lot of boxes for what I’m looking for. Made in the USA, AB, detent clicks on the adjustments, and a decent price point.

May wait for a 34mm FCS. Would be sick with a 1-10 razor or 1-8 atacr. However the primary arms PL-C 1-8 is a 30mm…
I'd have definitely been more excited if it paired with the Razor 1-10.

Anyone know what laser the 2k version has?

The website shows the 15k having a 1535nm. Originally I thought I saw the 15k having a 1550nm like @Teflon16 mentioned above.

The original stated specs were ~1535nm for both 2k and 5k..I just checked the Maz site and they indeed changed a lot in the specs info and the 2k spec is 905nm .. GAY
That was likely a typo, I don’t think they make the ~1550nm cheap enough to get it into that 2k price range. Otherwise we’d see them a lot more

Wonder what street price of the unit will actually be. Still optimistic for sub 3k
That would be great I have a feeling the MSRP will be the actual price though,

I want to know what the beam divergence will be on the LRF. The vortex impact is like 2.0 mils wide, hopefully it’s closer to the RAPTARs and MARs at sub .5 mils

What’s the best way to measure beam divergence?

I’ve run the 2k with a clip on in this video but I’m not seeing a clear way to measure the size of the ranging laser.

Wait is that your video? I watched that the other week! Love your channel.

Idk how to actually measure it, vortex just told me the spec themselves and high end units (Wilcox etc) list the divergence on the product page. My issues was that the impact 4000 struggled to pick out standalone targets without a berm behind them. aka an ipsc target on a t post in the middle of the field

There are ways around it like lazing the base or lazing larger objects nearby but it was also frustrating not being able to aim at actual target.

I had the opportunity to run a full power RAPTAR XE which has sub .5 mil divergence and it was night and day difference with the ability to pick out targets and get accurate ranges.

If Maztech gave you a Unit for your channel they may give you the specs for it.

If the 15k is a similiar beam to the WILCOX or MARs then I’ll buy one ASAP.

Yep that’s my video and channel… been on the forum here a long time but just several years on the YouTube thing. Appreciate all the support from everyone here that watches!

Just ran the question by my contact at MAZTECH….15k beam divergence is .8 mils which is supposed to be the same as raptar and mars. He didn’t have the spec for the 2k version handy.

A bit of a teaser here but I have my impact 4k, fire 4k and MAZTECH 2k side by side compare filmed. Hope to get that launched maybe next weekend if all goes to plan.

Can't wait! Thanks for all that you do for getting info about content out.

Being that you thought the aiming chevron was a bit big for use with smaller targets, can you run the FCS+LRF and just turn off the illuminated aiming point? That way you'd still have your elevation hold show up in the HUD but you'd just use your optic's reticle to hold over (like with any other WMLRF).

You know I didn't think about this as a potential solution. The HUD is fairly customizable but I'm not sure if you can actually turn the aiming point off.... I'll have to give it a try. I know Maztech is looking at designing other aiming points so hopefully that's something that can be changed by the user at some point down the road.

Funny, I asked them the exact same question at Shot Show this year. I have a very nice LPVO with a xmas tree reticle, so I don't want to use the digital aim point. They said yes, you can disable the digital aiming point and enable the MIL or MOA output on the screen.

That's awesome. When the 34mm version comes out, this system will be the tits with my Razor 1-10. The version for higher mag optics should also be rad. This seems like it gives you all the functionality of the XM-157 (but we can get it) but with the optic of your choice.

How does the HUD affect glass clarity?

Hard to say, I have only used it indoors at close ranges during trade show's. I didn't notice any weird color tint or optical distortion. m1ajunkie would be the one to ask.
