Basically asking - If you could get either the MPR or the Cross for a crazy good deal, what rifle would you choose and why?

The Cross will be coming out with the 6.5 PRC in a 24" barrel and i can either get that rifle or the MPR in 6.5 PRC. Both rifles will weigh about the same and both will end up costing me the same (with an industry connection). My intended use is pig/bear hunting at an average of 10-300 yds. I want a light foldable rifle for packing in. I like the PRC for when im in CO or ID packing in for Elk.

I currently shoot a 7mag for big game, 6.5 Grendel for deer, 300blk for pigs. I have a decent collection of rifles but no modern precision. I also have a buddy with a 3000 yd range and would like to at least be semi-competitive in shooting (that's why i want the PRC).

Thanks!

I think I would go with the MPR and why. I think you will get better support from MPR if you have a problem. Now they take great pride in building you a great rifle with great performance. But if something was to go wrong, man-made, they would be faster at getting it right. Also, I think you would find more support for the rifle and hunting as in accessories.
If you ever change the barrel the MPR would also provide and better platform. And more repair parts can be found for them as well.
Just my 2cents worth but get the one you like ask others as you did me and then get the one you want and make it yours.

My experience with CA after sales service has not been great.

I had a .308 rifle that required a hammer (i'm exaggerating slightly) to unlock the bolt after firing a .308 cartridge). The action was complete wobbly trash and would bind quite a bit at the rear of the stroke. I called CA and the first guy that I spoke to had no clue what i was talking about and told me to add lube...

The second guy I called told me that I could send the rifle in on my dime. No thanks.

My buddy had an out of the box MPR fail to chamber any 6.5 CM rounds. Extraction of the half chambered case showed a huge gouge in the same place on all of the brass. Clearly something in the chamber. CA had the rifle for almost six months. They kept blaming their gunsmith who is apparently not on premises?

I have a cross in 6.5 CM that's been pretty good. It's an MOA rifle with the factory barrel and the action is really slick. It feeds well and I like the feel of the bolt. Having said that, the stock hinge is a wobbly piece of trash. Unless sig has revised this on their newer models, it's a pretty annoying "feature".

Are there any other options on your list? Like FUHQ said, i'd build something with a folding stock or chassis before I chose either of those factory rifles.

No list necessarily - but i can get the MPR or Cross for less than what a chassis would cost.
