My favorite aspect of this war has to be the insane levels of hypocrisy on the left in regards to ultra-nationalism.

On one hand, they will proclaim that ultra-nationalism is the gravest threat to our democracy, and equating leaders of the opposing political tribe as literal fascists/Hitler (Trump, Musk, etc.) in the most grandiose and hyperbolic manner. On the other hand, they completely twist themselves into pretzels to defend literal ultra-nationalists/neo-nazis in Ukraine that we are training and arming with billions in military equipment.

An incredibly high amount of cluster munitions will remain unexploded and will be set off later - most likely by children according to statistics.

Despite what the warmongers say, I don't think Russia's goal was to conquer Ukraine in its entirety. They don't want that headache.

They do want territory that has explicit strategic advantages - Crimea being one of them.

The narrative that it's a "war of territorial conquest" is such blatant propagandistic bullshit. Russia has been very explicit that this conflict is about NATO expansionism.

I personally don't think the move at Kiev was a feint. If they could have taken it easily they would have.

It was more of a Hail Mary move which got shut down when bridges were bombed and spillways were opened to stop the mechanized advance along with the resistance put up by Ukraines allies. It's why they withdrew because it was impossible to get tanks through a bogged out spillway.

The were also repelled from taking that airfield, the one where the An-225 was destroyed.

Any war you participate in to improve your own strategic position and boost your economy with a positive return on investment at very little to zero cost of human lives from your own side is a "good" proxy war. Vietnam was a great proxy war. For the USSR.
