SP10 builder kits discontinued

i think it might also be high demand for the kits and not being able to keep up withthat demand in addition to the factory rifles they make
Exactly. That’s what I was inferring initially based on a discussion with a sales rep a year or so ago. The pressure from retail is just a thought and not validated.

ughhhhhhh i wish it was 6.5 creed!!!

i'm probably going with the SCI-20 with the matching ambi lower and a 17.25" mkIII handguard with 15" arca rail

They were for department builds to be used with a suppressor, originally we built up 6.5CM's that were not as consistently reliable with their chosen department ammo. These ones ran very well :)

In which case they will just go with something other than Seekins. A guy who is going to put a $8-1200 custom barrel on their AR will go with another option.
you're exactly right. For the monolithic or semi monolithic options, unless ZEV puts the Mega MML stuff back on their site, you're mostly stuck with JP For the LRI-20 upper or the LRP-07 set, or go with aero m5 enhanced upper with a sgt of arms arca forend. Unfortunately for Aero, I don't trust their QC at all, so for my needs JP seems to be the best option, at least for a custom build.

This really sucks. Seekins makes one of the best platforms for rifle builds in small and large frame. Not everyone wants their canned rifles. It's really foolish IMO, as they could sell damn near everyone they make.

They're perpetually backordered which suggests they already sell every one they make. From what I understand they have to reduce output of rifles to sell builder kits.

Well considering I can buy rifles in stock at any time, but not kits, then how is that a problem? I am sure the margin is a bit better on Rifles but there is much less that goes into making them as well. Focusing on putting out as many Builder kits as possible would be a great way to move a ton of product. Also, people are much more likely to buy 2, 3, 4, 8 builders kits to make rifles than buy more than 1 or 2 factory rifles.

Seekins doesn't sell SP10's direct. If an SP10 is in stock at a retailer it is because it was already purchased from Seekins. Perhaps the real issue is retailers don't want to order builder kits? It sounds like there could be a business opportunity for you, send Seekins an email explaining you would like to cut them a PO for 1000 units, no terms. I bet they'll take your order.

Seekins SP-10 builders kit. 24" Mullerworks as heavy as possible with a .936 fixed gas block. Journal is a friction fit. +2 length. Gas port ended up being .083" to lock back on a mag with my NRL Hunter ammo. 140 Hybrid, 39.5gr H4350 in Alpha SRP brass. JP LoMass BCG, SCS with 3 tungsten buffers, TT Diamond. Hawkins updraft in 6.5mm. 3lbs of weights added. Weighs 20lbs as pictured. It runs about 35fps slower than my 25" NRL Hunter barrel but it just crossed the 100rd mark this morning after it's first cleaning at 75rds.

The barrel extension was a challenge. I went through 4 extensions and ended up getting a prototype extension that was cut with shallow feed ramps. I'm not sure what it's original purpose was but it's what's required to feed Hybrids and ATIPs without jamming or jacking up the tip. My gunsmith softened the lugs until there were no scratches on the bullet. He also cut the port in a groove and throated it for a 2.800" coal at the lands. Dude went above and beyond.
