This has been going on for years!!!! Im dealing with them rescinding my money after billing them at an agreed upon rate. I bill them and they just decide on their own to subtract what they feel like paying and shorting me 10's of thousands of dollars.
HMO's healthy members only.
United sucks!

A company trying to save cost, say it isn't so. I know people that don't have healthcare and they also delay their healthcare to avoid cost. I mean people could always save their money in an HSA or a bank and pay out of pocket for their healthcare if they don't like their insurer.

For all we bitch about socialism, what do we think insurance is?

I hate dealing with health insurance and car insurance bullshit just like everyone else, but the $130 I pay a month is a shit ton cheaper than the medical care I have received over the years. If healthcare insurers didn't keep the reins tight, we would all be paying out the ass for healthcare. We kind of already do, but it could be far worse.

If we took all the wasted money the federal gov't spends and dump that into healthcare, we could all have better healthcare. If we all ate better, exercised more, we would also have better health!

Yet everyone was shocked, when XYZ got smoked on a public street. Some people do not take kindly to their kin getting,... Murdered,... for profit.

Apparently only one guy getting it wasn't enough to make a proper statement.
Looks like a whole long list needs the same treatment before they start being scared of being evil.

but the $130 I pay a month

Somebody doesn't know what average healthcare coverage costs these days for the average working type folks.
Rates haven't been that for 30 years...
If your company is paying part of the cost and that's your extra contribution, find out what the company is actually paying to the healthcare company for you.
If it's less than $500 a month I'd be surprised at this point.

The killer's family made it's millions off healthcare. They literally own several facilities that exploit the elderly and bilk health insurance companies. He is a spoiled rich kid who wants for nothing.

But keep thinking he cares and offering to suck his dick.

Regardless of if he was a POS, he did society a favour by taking out a much worse truly evil POS and that was evident by how much of the country was pretty happy about it.

You get it though, right?

Everyone else was watching their loved ones suffer and die while going into the poorhouse along the ride.

Then when the families make a peep about paying into health insurance for years and getting delayed and denied until death, they get told, "He died because he was sick! Go away!"

Most still accept that, some continue to complain... share boomer facebook memes against the insurers... and that's usually it.

Luigi saw that it was, indeed wrong, and legitimately Evil- from the inside.

He traded his life and his future to take (unjustified, because violence is never a means to a political end) action.

The Richie Rich's are all in fits. They want him DEAD.

It will be interesting to see what the jury looks like, and read whatever books they publish after the verdict.

United Healthcare has long been one of the worst insurance companies I deal with followed by Delta. Insurance is a a control scam both for patients and practitioners. There goal is profit and not the patient which is always going to be a conflict of interest and a problem.
I must say with Medicare I've had nothing but good experiences...knock on wood.

In your experience which are the best companies?

THe fact remains, regardless of the reasons, what he did was cold blooded murder. Hopefully, he at least goes to prison for life.

Your research is lacking, shill again.

Should/when the grid drops & the ROL takes a vacation for awhile, many people are going to start down their lists. Once they do there will be nothing stopping, their pay back. National civil unrest will beget unbelievable uncivilized events, as this country is wound up tighter than a over wound clock spring,...

RFK is on the right track. We can greatly cut costs and improve health across our nation.
With proper, quality nutrition and some exercise we could lower health problems by at least 80%. I work in health care, and this is so obvious.

Part of the problem is lazy people. They continue to eat junk, do no exercise, and want things fixed with a pill. Those people, and there are millions of them, end up pushing health care costs for everyone.

The Luigi thing never made any sense. Don't you whack the guy who cut on you and is the actual reason for your back pain?

Luigi shot Thompson 12/09/24. In 2023 the DOJ quietly opened an investigation of UHC and its subsidiaries for a range of issues (have to assume that denial / incentives not provide care at Nursing Facilities / transfer back to the Hospital / $ incentives to provide COVID Vax at Nursing Facilities, UHC coverage net / general abuse of COVID funds was in the mix). In February of 2024 the WSJ broke the news about the investigations. A lawsuit on behalf of Investors has been filed alleging that Thompson and other Execs of UHC dumped shares during the non public DOJ investigation (Thompson alone - $15MM). Brian Thompson ascended the UHC ladder over 20 yrs - he likely knew A LOT. Personally, and given the demonstrable way in which our world actually works, I am sort the opinion that Luigi was patsy of some kind. Thompson was a liability.

You see this most everywhere people shop for their food, what is in the cart is why they look the way they do. Especially most of those riding the powered carts

So you would love this.

Last week I was out of town.
I went to a fast food place that looked like it had decent healthy salads as well.

In front of me was a very large, very slow moving, and kind of slow of mind couple ordering.
They eventually figure out what food is and order something and then go sit down.

I go up to order and find they have a nice menu of good big salads, so I order one.

Salad comes to my table and I'm eating (sloped bowl which was weird but I guess helps you shovel the food in your face faster).
So I proceed to shovel a nice big salad (with like eggs and ham and cheese in the salad as well) down as fast as I can (I was in a hurry for an appointment).

They get their food.
As they are chowing down on a extra large burger each with all the extra junk in the burger and extra large fries each and a large shake each, the female calls the staff over and asks if they have a nutrition flyer listing the carbs in the meals...

I'm like, hey if you are eating that, don't bother pretending you care anything about the nutrition or carbs of your meal.

Also just as a note, at the grocery store all the good food and healthy options and vegetables and meat are still in out of control inflation.

But the entire isle of Little Diabetes snack cakes is still the same price as before and is always on sale...

UHC paid nursing homes to deny hospital visits to reduce costs.

No matter your stance on health insurance, preventing someone from receiving the care they need is fucked up.
You might need to draw a box around that. Your thinking is dangerously close to Health Care is a Right - and it ain't. (Rights, create obligations of others - I have no obligation to your health; and if I do - you'll really hate your new diet and exercise program).

It's a business controlled by contractual agreement and people willingly sign up. There is a finite pool of funds and a fixed number of patients. Decisions need to be made.

The real issue are those devoid of morals in positions of power.

Health care is not a right. I assume the customer is paying UHC for their insurance in one way or another.

Thank you for that (HC not a right). Yes I assume what we'll all learn is that there was in effect a breach / negligence on the part of UHC, and likely criminal. That all leads the public to understand how stinky the whole mess is.

- Pension Funds and Shareholders vs Patients with the Execs managing the show for a fee.
- People have no real understanding of what Health Insurance means in the practical. More importantly - the Market is strongly against educating them

This is why we sadly don't cure patients. This is why we slap bandaids on everything. Curing people would put them all out of business.

Doc
funny. i always thought that anyone who discovered, displayed and announced a cure for cancer would be dead inside of a week, their work would be destroyed in an "accidental" fire.

$130 would be a dream! I pay $1400/mo for a plan that actually covers things, and it still has a $2k/5k deductible.
My other option is $1000/mo with a $10k/20k deductible.

Biggest problem is I'm in Montana with 2 choices. Free market and deregulation would fix a lot.

I had Allegiance until they pulled out of the state completely. $750/mo, 6 months on pre-existing conditions and lifetime of $5 Mil. But, it was a $1k/2k deductible and 90% after with a max of of pocket of $4k.
My new Obamacare plan doesn't even have a max out of pocket, but it's super cool they don't have a lifetime max.... 😐

Government & Big Business....long time partners. Funny thing about that Plandemic - it could not have happened without partners. While ((they)) incentivized the Business w/ Gov Chee$e to inject each Payscent, we all bore witness to plenty of zealots who understood what they were doing.

(Related) Attorney Aaron Siri then delivered a little-known history lesson on vaccine liability.
“For every product on the market, you can SUE the manufacturer for harm,” Siri said. “There’s only ONE product in America you CANNOT sue the manufacturer to claim it could have been made safer—and that’s VACCINES.”
He explained how the 1986 National Childhood Vaccine Injury Act gave pharmaceutical companies sweeping immunity, not just for three vaccines, but for every new childhood shot added to the CDC schedule.
The result? A schedule that exploded from 3 shots to 29 in the first year of life, with zero accountability.
“They don’t have the financial incentive to make them safer,” Siri said. “In fact, they have the disincentive.”

What youre paying is a fraction of what your children are going to be paying. People that dont want to live healthy are soon not going to have a choice. Be healthy, be poor, or be dead. Again, we can all elect to put our money in the bank and save for the medical expenses.......and we might soon be there.

You could put your $1400 each month in the bank and have $16k to pay your own healthcare cost. That probably sounds even worse though, huh?

Insurance is in the business of making money. People having poor health is like people stealing from Walmart. Walmart puts doors on products just like insurance puts doors on healthcare.

No one ever thinks about why health insurance used to be so cheap. It was employee paid in my 20s and my out of pocket was $10 for office visit and $50 for ER. That was all I paid! What changed?

Why is it that people today have big beautiful white teeth, probably $1500 max ins pay a year, $25 month premium, and very few complaints out of people about dental cost? People bitch, but how come dental cost is not a congressional concern? Dentist are still wealthyish. I rarely see a kid today without perfect teeth.

imagine how much they saved with covid. most of the people that died were already costing them money.
we don't have insurance, we have pre-paid medical....you pay for 20-40 years...and then when you get old, they start earning that money.
if you die before you collect on your years of payments, they win.

My insurance agent said their spike in costs was directly related to removing the pre-existing conditions. Someone gets sick, signs up for a plan, and just stops paying it immediately after the bills are paid. So they'll get thousands in coverage for a few months of payments then bounce.

Dental insurance is a scam. I've never seen a plan that covers what it costs. I just pay my own bills. However, I'm not going in and getting a $20k bill for 12 hours worth of mostly sitting alone in a room.

I've gotten my money out of them. When my kid had appendicitis it ruptured during surgery. That was a $50k bill by the end of the week, and I paid $5k out of my pocket.
But that's the problem with self insurance. It could take you years of saving and it's all gone with 1 uncontrollable event in a few days.
I know my parents had over $750k in bills between cancer treatments. How many people are going to have that kind of cash laying around in their 50s? The average American can't cover 1 month of bills with their savings.

disease care cost and payment are such a complex issues that i doubt it can ever be fixed. the "right" to same and 3rd party payment are the 2 biggest problems that increase costs enormously. there are many other complicating factors.
