McMillan will inlet Mountain Tracker LR for Tikka if they get enough deposits

Except for the odd shaped finger-rest...whats this offer that this does not?

well McMillan fit and finish is excellent pretty much the industry standard. I haven't shot a peak 44 but the bastion design is pretty good design and reviews on fit and finish from what I've seen are good. Where the edge goes in design for me is the negative comb above bore on the MTLR vs the bastion. that extra height above bore gives you less perceived felt recoil and less muzzle flip, keeping the target in the scope and helping you spot shots. The peak 44 has the edge though in weight at 24oz and is a little cheaper. only the echelon versa (18-20 oz depending on features) is comparable. another stock similar to these is the rokstock but they had to stop order bc of their popularity and won't be available anytime soon.

It looks like the Bastion also has a negative comb. I dont know the difference in degrees of slope between them..if thats how its measured, just genuinely curious about what others perceive as differences. Im shopping for a stock for my new tikka right now.

I looked at the rokstok as well, and ran into the same issue (OOS)

I believe the stockys VG also has a negative comb (pictured at least, not described on their website though)

the bastion negative comb isn't as extreme as the MTLR and rokstock. Looking at the pic I'm not even sure its above bore line which kinda negates the positive effect it has. stockys vg has a parallel comb. its a decent stock (cheap and lightweight) but the trigger reach is really long (half inch longer than OEM). it can be built up with plumbers putty though. if you want lightweight and in stock I'd give the echelon versa a look.

Trigger reach is another one that I wish they would just publish the stats on. I do have a stockys on another rifle, but its a VG2 so somewhat different from this model.

from what ive read on mcmillans tikka inlets the trigger reaach is similar to oem. I had that concern as well. bastion, echelon and rokstock also similar. the ones thaat a re long are manners and stockys Tikka vg

For the price peak44 needs to install the recoil lug at their factory, you pay $800ish bones then have to mount your own recoil lug? Come on

In on this.

Curious what everyone is planning for this project?

I’ve got a long action inbound from jaoutdoors, probably going to break into the Proof Barrel game in 7PRC at 22”.

Anyone have experience with Unknown Munitions for DBM & mags?

Yes this is my first post…cheers.

Mine went on a factory 7mag
I bedded it and ground off the nub on the grip to suit my taste

Very nice feeling stock. Havent shot it yet
