I have said over and over that people don’t understand just how woven into the universities these people are. Jobs were advertised specifically asking for H1B visa holders. The universities paid for the legal process to get them the visas they needed. I think they should revoke all visas of faculty who can’t demonstrate that their expertise is not held by any US citizens.
My first job where I worked with the Hmong I said out loud at work that you could tell who had to run through the jungle to get to the US, fat lady next to me actually said I wasn’t wrong for saying it. The first and 2nd Gen US were lazy fuckers. When I was a toolmaker I had a Hmong coworker and his dad was a colonel before they ran for their lives and swam across the river while being shot at and hunted at night. We had some quality conversations while hand polishing a draw station with stones. He was surprised I knew as much about Hmong as I did.
I’m wondering when everyone is going to wake up and realize that the next presidency will continue with everything that was stopped via EO. Since it didn’t go through congress it doesn’t have to go back through. It just starts back up with another EO for the most part. DEI will come back strongly, along with USAID, higher taxes, regulation, climate change initiatives, border relaxation and other things. There was no conservative win, only a liberal pause.
