Farm boy here. Known about this stuff back in the late '70s. We did it on the farm.
My brother actually gave a speech about it in High School (not to the Vocational Agriculture / FFA class).
I did a short stint with UPS. There was a rancher on my very long and real rural route that would meet me in town to pick up his "bucket of bull juice" rather than wait for me to get to his place. It was real good deal because he was at the end of a 25 mile road and had 1 neighbor. If his neighbor had packages, I'd give those to him, too and save myself an hour. He'd be watching the tracking number but those can be off, as we all know. But once I saw that bucket, I'd give him a call and he'd be waiting for me at a little cafe. Then I'd go make the official first drop. Damned good guy. I shot shitloads of coyotes on his ground.
Common citizens should be allowed to do the same when threatened with mob violence as well.
DeSantis said you could do it if you were threatened. I like it!
