My sig cross weighs in at about 9.5lb and was trying to get it to around 12.5 -13lb which is very comfortable for my other rifles.

Is it possible just to buy a the heaviest 22inch barrel profile I can find to get the weight up?

I already have the weighted PRS grip installed but also realize I would probably need some mlok weights as well to balance the rifle out.

Has anyone tried something like this?

Why 22”? If you wanted more weight just get a heavier barrel installed. Many have done it with many different rifles. The Sig isn’t anything different. Id be looking at around 26” to start.

Im probably looking at 24 inches since this is the longest straight jacket armory offers.
I have a Sig Cross from them. You can get shorter than 24" but go heavy taper with the 1.0" finishing at .95". That is what I have on this gun and if I remember right it is in the 12-13lb range.

Are you wanting to shoot PRS with the cross? If that is the case u may be better off to start with something else bc in the long run it will be cheaper

No prs

At some point Ill get a ARC or Zermatt

Would it be cheaper because of starting out with more weight? I actually feel like Im saving money because if I get an R700 action Ive already know im dropping over 2k on just a chassis.

PRS rifles are heavy to make them balance (=avoid wobble), not just to act as a balast for free recoil.

You'd be infinitely better off with an r700 Origin, custom barrel, and XLR envy pro from the Px.
