with the changes, it still has to go back to the House and there are 435 assholes there who can easily band together to screw us.

Well, hopefully, we'll know by the conclusion of the "conference committee" what's going on. That's where it *should* get all worked out, Still, there could be some of those 435 a$$holes that want to grandstand and "F" up what the conference committee worked out.

The real question if it goes through is 'what are we trading it for" ..... we all know that nothing is for free and there's no way at getting things passed without making compromises somewhere.
Probably a bunch of guarantees for Palantir’s social credit score. And most definitely a lot of the same shit that we were told would be put to a stop

Is it really that big of a deal? You can buy cans now, you can buy sbrs now. None of this moves the needle. Maybe start carrying about something you can't have now.
Sure, after I pay my tax and get approval. Never have been into that bullshit so here I sit with no cans and no SBR/SBS in my life. Hopefully that will change soon!

Yes. There are still many firearm ranges that either will not allow them or will require you to show your tax stamp to use them. It doesn’t matter that legally you’re only required to show that tax stamp to a federal agent. If the range decides they don’t want them, they have the right to deny you use of their range. Especially along the east coast. You don’t know what you don’t know.

Big fucking deal. Its been the status quo for 100 fucking years. Everyone but a felon gets approved so its no different than buying a firearm and $200 is a piss in the bucket, especially when accounted for inflation from 1934. If the tax stamp kept up with inflation it would be $4800 today. Stop bitching about irrelevant shit.

Well don't go to retarded places. No one has ever asked about tax stamps or cares. I shoot ALL over the east coast and the amount of times anyone has asked anyone I know of for a tax stamp = 0. No one cares but boogy men on the internet. I hear all the same shit from gun store fudds and other retards who dont actually go out and shoot. People who shoot, could care less.

Why are you such a miserable shit? Did you get your ass beat in high school? Did you get stuffed in lockers? Did you find out your girl had trains run on her? I mean, what’s your deal?

Why are you crying like a bitch about silly shit. Are you on your period? Did they cancel your favorite daytime romance show? Did your husband call you fat?

Grab your little fucking nuts, give em a tug and pretend to be a man for a little while. There are far bigger issues out there to worry about that moaning about stupid little bullshit. This wont change anyone's life. People who wanted cans and SBRS, already have them. No one is letting a little paperwork and $200 stop them from enjoying life.

Yes. As usual, your experience makes you the unmitigated expert. I forgot that.

But bullshit. I’ve been places where these things happened, so can your ‘expertise’ and allow others to share actual experiences.

Your first go to is to dismiss people with other opinions as idiots who don’t actually shoot. You are fucking hilarious.😂 🤣😄

You’re such bitch. All you do is act hard core on the internet. I bet the people around you in real life despise you, and I bet you’re not nearly as much of a bad ass in real life.

I mean I said, Don't go to retarded places. Do you go to restaurants where the food and service is shit? Well why would you go to a range with the same deal.

I can name about 10-15 premier shooting facilities up and down the east coast and Not one of them gives a fuck about tax stamps. Shit some are in BANNED states and still, no one gives a fuck.

Again, get out there with people who ACTUALLY shoot and you will find no one cares.

Won't affect me too much as I have more than a dozen stamps. However, early on, it was an annoyance to wait 6 months for the stamp.
While $200 isn't much on a F/A or TBAC .338 can, it's quite a bit a on a .22 sparrow that retailed for $299. Never been to a range that denied use or asked to see a stamp - they are somewhat common here in the midwest. Travelling with a can (like thru shitholes like Illinois) while legal to pass through, it isn't legal to visit friends for a few days while in possession. Too much hassle to travel with an SBR. It'd be nice to see these restrictions lifted.

The SBR travel thing I get. Then again no one really follows the "law"anyway.

The only people who enforce federal firearms laws are the ATF in the course of an investigation or some AUSA as a add on charge to some other horrific shit to get you to plea.

But a state banning something wont change federal law. Say SBRS and Cans are now treated like regular firearms. They are still illegal in places like NJ and NY. It wont make taking them there any easier or invalidate state law. Other than the SBR notification rule (which again most people ignore) this really doesn't move the needle IMO.

Wait times for Cans are faster (2-5 days) than regulated firearms in most states that have a waiting period (7-10 days). So its quicker to buy a can than a handgun or an AR.

Talk about a site that was started for men only, turning into a basement dwellers dream. Until about 2006 you never seen this kind of shit, then the dipper wearers started to roll in & dragged their ink with them. About 08 the fucks from fart15.com started showing up and many started walking. With them were a bunch who had BTDT, as they were not going to putting up with kid antics, the very reason they went other places that,... Vet,... everyone.

Creeping incrementalism. It is how we lose rights. It’s also how we gain them back. Pulling any power back from the federal govt is a Herculean effort. Yes, you can buy suppressors and SBRs and SBSs today. But, gutting the NFA is going to be a bit like gutting a deer. A bunch of relatively small cuts until it’s just a hollow carcass.

Keep in mind too that those 299 .22lr cans pricing also includes the making tax that they have to pay to ATF, so those cans would be closer to 100 bucks OTD if this bill passes.

There is limited political capital to reverse any of the thousands of bullshit laws and regulations. Would you rather them spend it on shit like this or something that would ACTUALLY increase freedom and make a difference in your life? There will be concessions and tradeoffs to get this bill passed. So you are giving up SOMETHING to get this. Lets think about JUST firearm related laws/regs

-Nationwide CCW
-Make restrictions carrying a gun any place in public illegal
-Maybe reverse the machine gun ban
-Make it so Cops and Federal agents cannot have any firearms or rights that the citizens do not have.
-Nationwide Castle Doctrine.
-50 other things that would move the needle further.

But yes, spend that little political capital on bullshit like removing cans and short barrel guns from the NFA (which are still going to be codified illegal in MANY places) that will not have hardly any effect on people who want to use them or the industries that support them. Hell a AR pistol is 99% the capability of a SBR without any of the paperwork or headaches. A pistol can be carried legally (including stored in vehicle) in most states whereas a rifle cannot, so a SBR coming off NFA is not going to change much.

The small brain thinking in here is why its so easy to control the masses. People are too fucking dumb to understand what is even happening.

Yes you can buy them now but now without a lot of ass kissing and extra $.

...and once you have them, you are technically supposed to ask permission in writing before traveling with either out of state. Again, lots of ass kissing.

If passed, at least most of that BS would go away.
Yea I get that Terry and mentioned that would be the one nice thing about the change. It only applies to MGs, SBR/SBS and DD's. Suppressors do not require notification.

How many people need to travel interstate with an SBR or MG are who not already exempted by NFA? Its a piss in the bucket compared to say people traveling with a can or a pistol interstate.

I just wish the same effort were placed into MEANINGFUL changes to the firearm world. This is probably our last chance ever to cash in on something we like, that effects us as gun owners, and ill be honest, its pretty fucking underwhelming. Its not like the Supreme Court will ever do their fucking jobs and restore our rights. They keep kicking every can down the road.

Sure, but do you honestly think that any one of your wish list would have had even a speck of a chance of getting into the bill? With the whole of Dems and the slew of Rhinos in our government, not a chance in hell.

Yes, Nationwide CCW would have been huge and had just as much support. In fact much more IMO than "machine guns and silencers"

You don't think dems and gun grabbers were vehemently against Silencers and Short barrel rifles that you can conceal under a trenchcoat and take into a school?

What part of limited political capital don't you understand? Its like currency. I get many of you don't really understand how DC works nor have you worked there but this is the game. You don't get unlimited swings.

What happens in 2026 when dems take back congress or 2028 when they potentially take back the white house. None of this will even be a possibility then.

This really doesn't change much. The ignorant look at it as a victory but it doesn't change the WAR at all. And it will be used for years as justification why we should vote for the same assholes, ect.

I thought they were only removing the tax... all the other BS is still required? Fucking SC needs to quit refusing to hear these cases!
When any court becomes politicized, about/over the COTUS, the they become irrelevant to many, and are just sowing the seeds of dangerous times to come.

Shall not be infringed, 4 simple words a 4th grader understands. Stifling the 2A,... Is,... about the power to kill your ass at anytime they wish, nothing more nothing less.

Well, here's your opportunity Sparky.

Log off the Hide and go start a grass roots movement to shut down all of the ATF and NFA bullshit.
You're so much smarter than everyone else around here, so you don’t need anything from us.

I know everyone has been waiting my two cents. :ROFLMAO:

I agree with spending political capitol wisely. But I also believe in not giving an inch, if at all possible.

So, it feels like I am agreeing with @DeathBeforeDismount , which usually doesn't happen.

Tax stamp or not, the rifles are legal to own. I would just as soon not have the tax stamp. That being said, I agree that we should be setting conditions, such national reciprocity, you can carry anywhere. That you can carry what you want.

The point was made that we already have to go through background checks and fill out a 4473. My counterpoint to that is that it should never have been required or started in the first place. I mean, sure, a store can keep records of serial numbers sold. Stores do it with the billions of other items you can buy that have serial numbers.

So, is this a case of retreating on a few skirmishes to win the war? Or should we be berserkers on all fronts? I know the dems are berzerkers. They run full tilt boogie 24/7/365 to take away our rights, every last one of them. The one little cunt David Hogg was running with back in the day said it out loud. "Give us an inch and we will take a mile."

I believe her.

Approval times have sped up, but many people have waited over a year, and the NFA has made silencers much more expensive than they should be. But for the NFA, I would have more silencers, I would have gotten them sooner, and I would also have had an SBR by the bed by 2000. And some of us don't like being on lists unnecessarily.

Also, leftists have learned something conservatives have not: incremental change works.

LOL. Complaining about the way things USED to be. Tell me you have no experience buying cans or registering SBRS without telling me.

You are on about 100 different databases. Everything you have ever signed up for, registered, paid tax on put you in a database that is collated and sold to both private and public entities. The gov knows more about your sexual preferences and preferred butt plug size than it will about the firearms you own. Apple, google, Visa, Every financial institution, retailer, video game, online service, streaming service, every fucking app you ever downloaded, anything you subscribe to. Add in geotracking from your phone/sign ins and search histories. You have ZERO privacy and the only people who actually do, wouldn't make such dumb statements about some ATF database with a gun owner (which doesn't matter as most states AND the fed keep track of every firearm sold despite the law). By being a member of this very website you are ALREADY on someones radar. And even if you aren't all that meta data is being stored and CAN and WILL be used against you or your interests one day. The "enterprise" will know more about your life than you would even be able to remember about yourself. Oh no not the lists............LOL

Stupid me thinking you can reason with intelligent people here. You need intelligent people first. And then they wonder why idiots keep getting voted in.
