Gonna upgrade my X-ray soon as I convert it to a kids 223

I want to upgrade the polymer forend to something better and I’ve narrowed down my choices to two primary choices. They are the same price and are similar in features. There is a 10oz weight difference with the krg being lighter. I don’t want a super heavy gun, but I want more rigidity than the polymer provides and I want an arca rail

Krg enclosed arca forend.
Vs
Vision krg forend

What’s the recommendation?

The Vision forends for a 700sa aren't available right at this moment, but will be very soon. I backordered one and can report back when I receive it. Hopefully it's as nice as it looks.

I have 2 KRG closed forend´s and i am happy with those.
Integrated ARCA would be awesome.

Pretty sure KRG just launched exactly that (I saw it somewhere yesterday for the first time).

I'll see if I can find the link. If so I'm kinda peeved, I have the older model enclosed forend and separate Arca rail on order. Grrrr!

Edit, yup - looks like they have - link

Only one of them exists currently assuming you are talking R700. Are you willing to wait for an unknown amount of time?
The back order doesn’t bother me too much, I’ll call Rick this week and see how long it will take for the next shipment to arrive from Europe

The krg is also in stock

So I’m not worried about shipping, I can’t use anything until nearly April anyway because of work

tagging in as well.

Which one is longer? Do either accept spigots?

I'm considering going this direction too and would like whichever gives more real estate for the fore-end on props with a bipod and allows weight to be added further forward. Edit: answered my own question. Looks like nearly the same length and no-go on spigot for both.. The pro fore end seems to be the one a guy would want but its twice the price i've paid for every bravo i've owned haha!

If it's full arca do you really want a spigot though?

I have the Geissele mk18 rail rail and it's very uncomfortable to carry because the width of the hardguard is much narrower than your rail. The arca edges dig into the hand.

Sounds like a bitch I know but it's enough to make me reach for different rifles.

If the arca edges isn't the widest point the hand pressure is displaced to the actual handguard.

That's the kinda feedback I'm looking for on these 2.

It looks like the fore end is wider than ARCA in both options anyway. If the fore ends were longer, i wouldn't want a spigot. It looks like they are about 4" longer than standard bravo fore end which is probably close to how much the spigot extends in that application, so maybe i wouldn't care to add one? Standard Bravo fore end length is definitely too short to not have a spigot with full length arca for me.. I have a spigot on my OG MPA BA Comp and i like having the option to put the bipod that far forward.

The pro comes with the backbone built in so it's likely stiffer. At the very least, it's way nicer to take apart than the 50 screws for the enclosed forend

I’m running one right now. It’s very nice. The only complaint I have is that there’s not enough clearance underneath my external weights to slide my bipod under or clip into a tripod. I’m running grey ops weights and I’ll probably wind up taking about .050” off the weights to solve that problem. It’s very close.
