Only the All in One will feature AB Ecosystem comms, the weatherdot does not. I do not believe it will be incorporated as the Mini All In One will feature the necessary to do this. We do not know when Calypso plans to release it at this time.
AB Quantum Major Update 3.3 + Calypso AB Mini

I had just emailed Vectronix support about this, and got this response: "We will connect with the AB Quantum app in approx. two-three weeks. This also means that we will then also connect to the Calypso Ultrasonic mini AB."
You will need to use AB Quantum to pair the Calypso AB Mini to any range finder. Once paired, you do not need to open ABQ except to move the Calypso to a new device, or remove its pairing to an LRF. Once the Calypso is paired to an LRF you will need to clear that pairing if you want to use it with the App etc. Then pair it back as needed.
Why not use LRFs or wind sensors as peripherals? They can stream data to ABQ, with ABQ acting as the solver. This enables live wind dope and avoids Bluetooth compatibility issues—as long as they connect to ABQ, we’re good.
I am not sure I understand what you are getting at? You can use an LRF or Calypso AB Mini as a peripheral to AB Quantum. The question I was answering is that you do not need the app running to keep the Calypso AB Mini paired to an LRF (where compatible).
Thanks for the reply! Just to clarify—I’m looking to use ABQ as the solver, with live wind data streaming into it. My concern is that if the wind sensor is paired directly to an LRF, it might not be able to stream data to ABQ. That’s why I’m asking if it’s better to have both the LRF and wind sensor connect directly to ABQ. Does that make sense?
With a Garmin, either watch or Fortrex, you can have a Kestrel and an LRF paired at the same time. AB Q seems to only allow pairing one thing at a time. So you would have to connect the LRF and get your ranges, put that into your target cards and then connect the Calypso to stream the environmentals.
The only 1 thing at a time is a HUGE limitation of AB Q in my opinion. It's built on a phone, that can have multiple bluetooth connections. I see no reason why AB Q cannot do the same thing. I get that way back when AB was first created, a range finder and a kestrel were the only real things that could use the system, but times and technology have changed drastically.

If you pair the Calypso to the LRF, it cannot stream to ABQ through the LRF. I don't know of any LRFs that are setup to transfer that data. The LRF itself would need to supply that data.
You can pair a Kestrel & LRF to a Garmin Foretrex 901 but you cannot pair a Calypso AB Mini and LRF to a Foretrex 901. However you can pair a Calypso AB Mini and LRF to a Tactix 8 or Instinct 3 Tactical because they are on the new comms protocol.
Will we ever be able to have multiple devices to AB Q at the same time?
Same question. Would be very useful to be able to connect more than one device.

There’s an annoying bug on latest version with Bluetooth. If iPhone settings in apps deny Bluetooth access to AB Q, and you open AB app and accidentally press the devices button on the bottom menu it brings up a note saying you have to give AB access to Bluetooth and attempts to give a settings button and a cancel button. However neither work and it locks up the app. Can’t cancel or move to another tab like shoot or profiles. Closing and rebooting app don’t fix it. App always opens with the error screen and none of the buttons work.
Turning on BT in settings fixes it immediately and lets you get off the devices tab.

Why? If I’m not connecting a device, AB shouldn’t need it. General security best practice for decades has been least permission. If it doesn’t need it, turn it off.
It partly has to do with the way they are now using single chips for multiple outputs. Bluetooth, Wifi, GPS, Apples internal bluetooth device check(you pay extra for chips that Apple requires with this), some memory functions and more...
@DocUSMCRetired, what happened to my wind adjustment in Quantum? I can change the elevation and for some reason I cannot find the setting to get the wind back.
When the app updated their was a series of prompts/information blocks. One of those showed that the Wind Controls were moved to the Target Controller.
It looks like version 3.4.4 of the ABQ app was released just a few hours ago. I just downloaded it, and so far it seems to be working great with my Vector X binos.
I can sync profiles from ABQ directly to the binos, I can change certain settings from the 'Device' screen (such as wind speed, direction, and environmental values/sources), and I can transfer target card settings to and from the binos as well.
I'm super pleased that this is up and running now, I'd much rather use ABQ than the VECSS app.
No luck. I updated the Vector X firmware released today, but it still shows version 182 and won’t pair with Calypso.

Since the upgrade, my app no longer solves when I enter a range . I reported it via the support function. This happened once before and required that I delete the app and reinstall.
I am still confused about what constitutes the ecosystem. In my naive mind, it means multiple devices can connect and supply specific info to ABQ to calculate a solution--the calypso mini sends real time wind data and the rangefinder sends distance, inclination, etc. I have not figured out how to to that yet. I can see both the Geovid AB and the Mini AB in the devices list in ABQ. If the Geovid is active, I get range but no wind data. If the Mini is active, I get wind but no range data. I did link the LRF and Mini. I submitted a support ticket. Checking here to learn if someone has works this out.
Sadly, you can only have 1 thing connected to AB Q at once. In my opinion, it's the biggest downside/negative to using the phone for your real time solver. As you have found, you can link the Mini AB and the LRF, but the LRF does NOT act as a bridge to give that wind data back into AB Q. It will only show you the wind in the LRF.

That may be fine if you're shooting at fixed targets. I am really irate that I spent the money I did to buy into the "ecosystem". I think it is an alpha product and marketing bullshit at this time. I hope it improves - I already invested too much money and time. I'm on Pro too but I'm done buying AB stuff. If I have to pull in values from multiple instruments ahead of time, then I do not need to pay multiple times for an "ecosystem" which implies integration. It doesn't save time to switch devices in the app. It takes the same amount of time to enter a value manually from a non-ecosystem device and I save money. I am pissed at myself for buying into the hype.
You are not paying multiple times into the same thing. You are paying each company for their time, effort, development etc. We are not building these products for them. Those companies are investing their own R&D and production into the products in many cases. You are paying them for that development and implementation.
These devices do integrate. The Calypso can pair to some laser range finders (which ones are agreements between Calypso and the parent company of the laser range finder). They also do integrate with AB Quantum (and we are working to add more devices and features as we speak. In fact I tested two new features this week).
I do not believe it would be more productive to read the wind live from another device, then carry it over to the AB Quantum app in real time, while looking through the scope and trying to shoot. Instead you can pair the Calypso to AB Quantum, and get wind in real time. Just set your target azimuth and point the Calypso North. It will do the rest. If using a compatible Laser Range Finder you don't even need to set the Azimuth, because many of the LRFs can do this for you.
- Device screen, set the LRF Active.
- Go to Target Card.
- Option 1: Start with a blank target card, and laser each target 1 at a time. As you laser a target a new target will populate automatically in the target card if no targets are selected (highlighted).
- If you don't like the data for a target, select (highlight) it and re-laser to replace that information.
- Option 2: Select the target you want to update info on, and laser the target with the LRF. Range, Direction, and Inclination will auto populate.
- Highlight new target in AB Quantum. Laser with range finder.
- Repeat for next target.
- Repeat for next target etc.
- If done move to step 3.
- Option 1: Start with a blank target card, and laser each target 1 at a time. As you laser a target a new target will populate automatically in the target card if no targets are selected (highlighted).
- From devices menu swap to Calypso, and wind data will automatically populate for the targets on the target card. Best practice in my opinion in this method is to simply point the Calypso North and have the app set in North wind mode.
Thanks. I appreciate the response. I do. I'll try this method for the range but my use case is random targets in the field. I am not shooting in competitions where I can range in advance to create a target card.
From my perspective, I 'am paying' multiple times for the integration. The same device costs more to be in the "ecosystem". I get it--pay for developers and support. I gladly paid for the ecosystem in the app, the LRF and the mini, thinking they would work together seamlessly. I guess I have a different definition of integration. I think of it as live data integration--not just connection integration. I now know that I can only access data from one device at a time so for me, I really don't gain any value. I can just type in the needed value in probably the same number of clicks as it takes to change device via the menus. It is what I was doing before buying all new devices.
The form factor of the mini is better than my homemade contraption - a weatherflow mounted on a weathervane streaming environmental data to a ten year old solver app. I get the range and inclination from my LRF and type it in. (Or switch devices in ABQ.) I've been using my original setup side by side with my new AB ecosystem setup - with equal results.
I'll continue to use ABQ. I think the constant improvements and direct connection to customers in forums like this are a plus. But I am not buying any new devices for "integration" until the data can simultaneously integrate as well. For my uses, I would have gone down a simpler and cheaper route if I had done my homework better.

Another frustrating day with the “ecosystem”. The Leica Geovid Pro AB connected and transferred all the data to ABQ. I then made the Calypso AB active, it streamed wind data. I switched back to the Leica (in devices) but the Leica would never connect again. If I tapped the + sign, it would move to the top of there list but always stayed disconnected. “Forgetting” the calypso did nothing. Anyone have a suggestion?
PS—The calypso pairs with the Leica but that doesn’t seem to do anying.
There was another update. I applied it via the Leica app. I couldn't get ABQ to connect. I can connect and switch between devices now now but there is a 15-20 sec lag. In my opinion, that is still a problem. ABQ is on an iPhone 16 Pro Max with iOS 18.5. Software on all devices is at latest rev. I guess I'll contact Leica next.
