Went to a few shops local to work hunting down a G/elE prefix 700 and ran across a dusty/dirty FN SPR (with a pos bushnell 22 scope on it) in a rack.

Wanting 2500 said it was brand new/still had the box. Bore looked new, just finger fucked a lot over the years.

I’m tempted to go grab it, 2500 seems steep. After my discussion about a 700p with a with an vx3 with premier reticle my odds aren’t good of getting more than 50.00 off. 2500 too much?

I sold my 20” A5M for about $2250 a few months back on here, but that was with a friggin’ boatload of mags (like seven 10rnd mags that are almost unobtanium now, and five 5rnd mags).

I’d offer $1800 or so at most, if you really wanted it. They’re absolutely solid guns and usually great shooters, but the 10rnd mags are getting very hard to find for them so you’d be limited there.

If you’ve got money to burn and have always wanted one, start at $1650. Show them my thread if you want with all it came with and how much sold for and see what they say. You won’t regret owning one if you have a use case for it!

$2,500 is way high. I'm with you on $1,800 if NIB and he can keep the scope.

Those barrels are going to last a while, but any gunsmith who works on Win 70s can do one for you. It requires no voodoo.

I had one for a while. Probably still have it if the LOP was longer and I wasn’t on an AI itch

Those barrels go forever. FN is chrome lined. A 308 will go 8,000-10,000 rounds on those easily

$1800-$2000 would be fair. Otherwise you’ll find them listed here around $1800 in the px from time to time

If you outshoot that barrel and haven’t saved up enough to pay someone to replace it, then what are you even doing with your life? :ROFLMAO: FNH guarantees 1/2MOA for 10,000 rounds. That’s a LOT of shooting, and plenty of time to find a good ‘smith. As others have noted, they’re essentially just an accurized M70, no magic involved. :)

Buy it already!
